Guest guest
This is part of a series of emails with the secretary of a prospective endo. I am still awaiting her next reply and think I may be waiting a long time! Me: Can you tell me if Dr. M is open to prescribing an alternative to thyroxine? Endocrine Secretary: Dr M. is willing to see you if your doctor refers you, he will only prescribe the normal hypothyroid treatment. Me: Thank you for your reply. If I understand you correctly - although taking thyroxine for 15 years I am very ill with hypothyroid symptoms, and the only treatment is - thyroxine? Endocrine Secretary: Dr. M will only use thyroxine. Some "unorthodox" doctors will use something called Amour but we usually end up with them picking up the pieces. (her quotes) Me: Can you tell me who picks up the pieces of those people already 'treated' with thyroxine when they are still very ill? You have to laugh or else you would cry
