Guest guest
i take about 60 mcg of t3 and 30 mg of hc. i have the following results ft3 4.42 (2.00-4.00). Does this mean i am taking a bit too much t3?. often my pulse is highish at 80+ and i wonder if i take too much ft4 0.12 (0.70-1.70). Does this mean i produce some ft4? tsh 0.01 (0.25-500) I presume this is normal for people taking t3? Also i have lowish white blood cells 4.5 (4.8 -10.8). how can i increase these? My Eosinophili are very high because i am allergic but they have increased a lot since the last time. any connection with my thryoid/adrenal problem?? 10.8 (1.0-6.0) hope someone can throw light on these tests. thanks berny from Italy
Guest guest
Hello Berny, ft3 4.42 (2.00-4.00). Does this mean i am taking a bit too much t3?. often my pulse is highish at 80+ and i wonder if i take too muchft4 0.12 (0.70-1.70). Does this mean i produce some ft4?tsh 0.01 (0.25-500) I presume this is normal for people taking t3?It depends on when you have taken your last dose of T3 before the blood draw. If your last T3 dose was about 24 hour previous, then yes, you are over the top and I would reduce the T3 dosage. If you had taken your last dose only about 12 hours before the blood draw, then your dose is still a tiny bit too high and I would reduce marginally. If you had taken your T3 just a couple of hours or so before the blood draw, then the dosage would be just right. High pulse might be a sign for low Magnesium – it's not necessarily a sign of high thyroid. Your FT4 with 0.12 is practically non-existing – so no, I don't think you produce any T4 and your TSH is obviously suppressed since you are providing all the T your body needs – so that is to be expected. Also i have lowish white blood cells 4.5 (4.8 -10.8). how can i increase these? A low WBC (white blood-cell count) usually means that your immunity is low. This might be a combination of you being hypothyroid and you taking HC. Steroids lower the immunity and with 30 mg per day you are taking quite a high physiological dosage. I can't say this categorically, but I doubt if you will get your WBC up for as long as you are taking this amount of HC. A low white count can also be a sign of bone marrow diseases or an enlarged spleen, but the most likely cause in your case is hypothyroidism and taking steroids. My Eosinophili are very high because i am allergic but they have increased a lotsince the last time. any connection with my thryoid/adrenal problem?? 10.8 (1.0-6.0)Yes, allergies and/or parasites might be responsible for a high Eos count. I would imagine that both, your low WBC and high Eos count might be a result of you taking HC. With 30 mg/day you are close to the upper limit of a physiological dosage and higher dosages will lower your natural defence system. Dr. Peatfield recommends 10-20 mg as a general dosage, although says that in some cases 30 mg are necessary. The downside however is that the higher the dose of steroids, the more you lower the body's immune system – so allergies and parasites (like yeast overgrowth for instance) can gain easier access and are harder to fight. It's a vicious circle L Hopefully you will get things under control when you will be able to lower the HC dosage. With best wishes,
