Guest guest
HI Having been to the Dentist yesterday I have now been told that my gums are receding and exposing the roots. Ihave been told that I am brushing too hard and too many times. However I only brush twice a day and due to the painful muscles have not been able to brush hard. I also informed her that I have problems with calcium, and not able to take thyroxine, that I am on steroids, and that I have Gynae problems and Polymyalgia. I do not believe her diagnoses on overbrushing. I use Kingfisher Fennel fluoride free toothpaste. I have also had problems with calcium carbonate as a vitamin, but they also put this in all toothpaste which is an abrasive. I have also come across the fact that some people ate allergic to Sodium Lauryl sulphate. I also suffer from a dry mouth at night and after my pregnancies years back I had too have a lot of fillings and also had gum disease. At age 18 I also had to have a lot of fillings and got an infection and had to use salt water to get rid of it as it caused my face to be swollen. My Daughter who also has thyroid problem was also told when she was young that she was brushing her teethe too hard. Could it be also caused by calcium being drawn from the bones. Both me and my Daughters had misaligned teethe. Both my parents had to have all their teethe removed due to gum disease and both had untreated thyroid problems. It appears our Dentists cannot diagnose or help us once they know our problems either. Kathleen
Guest guest
Hi Kathleen: You could try oil pulling...which has been known to help eleviate tooth pain, etc.: http://www.oilpulling.com/ Years ago I had a few teeth where the gums were beginning to recede but about that time I started taking iodine and I was not aware that this would help, but it also helped with a sensitive root canal I had done. Iodine is known to help tooth problems and strengthen the teeth.
