Guest guest
Please note that in the UK all forms of DHEA are prescription-only medicines and therefore should not be advertised on this forum. It is against the rules. Lilian On 15 May 2011 12:07, jo231499 <tachiebelle@...> wrote: I have 100 tabs of Lab 5 mg sublingual DHEA tablets avaliable. Still in a sealed canister. Guest guest
I actually thought that DHEA was no longer classed as a prescription only drug (in the same way that Melatonin is no longer a prescription drug in the UK and you can buy it both here in the UK and from elsewhere. I thought DHEA had been declassified as a dietary supplement, but need confirmation about this. Guest guest
You can buy it without prescription from Biovea (UK) without prescription so it appears to be OK to advertise on the forum. http://www.biovea.net/(S(eij53jjaspojr4451r352wj5))/category_dispatch.aspx?CID=6 Luv - Sheila I actually thought that DHEA was no longer classed as a prescription only drug (in the same way that Melatonin is no longer a prescription drug in the UK and you can buy it both here in the UK and from elsewhere. Guest guest
This is what I readIn the UK all forms of DHEA are prescription-only medicines, and are only available from a pharmacy when you have been given a prescription by your doctor. DHEA is classed as an ?unlicensed? medicine in the UK. It can be supplied by a pharmacy when you have a valid prescription, but the doctor and the pharmacy have a greater responsibility for the safety of the medicine. If you have a private prescription, that means you have to pay for the full cost of the medicine and also any dispensing fee the pharmacist chooses to charge. Big differences can exist depending on where you take your prescription to be dispensed. This means that it is important for you to find the best price available to you. The whole page is here: http://www.pharmacy2u.co.uk/static/healthcentre/hormonereplacement/dhea.aspx This is in fact the pharmacy I used to get my private prescription for T3 and is quite reasonable in price compared to some others. I think they should be up to date but I cannot see where it was last updated but I should think they would keep it up to date as they could lose sales if they don't. I deleted the message on the website but unfortunately forgot to delete it in my reply and do not know how to edit my message Lilian On 15 May 2011 13:40, Sheila <sheila@...> wrote: I actually thought that DHEA was no longer classed as a prescription only drug (in the same way that Melatonin is no longer a prescription drug in the UK and you can buy it both here in the UK and from elsewhere. Guest guest
Things have changed Lilian, You can buy both Melatonin and DHEA in the UK without the need of a NHS prescription. If you need these on a regular basis, your GP can give you a prescription. However, for ANY thyroid hormone replacement you need a NHS prescription to enable you to buy it in the UK, yet you can buy it from Internet Pharmacies without a prescription. At one time, you could not buy either Melatonin or DHEA in the UK, in fact, it was banned in the UK, but that restriction has now been lifted, and you can buy it from several UK pharmacies without having to provide a prescription anymore. http://www.biovea.net/(S(fbchzd4543jlr555nu25uril))/category_dispatch.aspx?CID=6 Luv - Sheila This is what I read In the UK all forms of DHEA are prescription-only medicines, and are only available from a pharmacy when you have been given a prescription by your doctor. Guest guest
Does this mean that I can now go into a local chemist and ask for some Melatonin, or DHEA without providing a prescription? Guest guest
Not sure, doubt it, but it would be worth asking. For them to give it to you, they may request a NHS prescription, but you can buy it without prescription from Internet Pharmacies in the UK - so if not, I don't know why not. All a\ bit tricky.
