Can you throw any light on this Bob, being our 'resident Chemist'?

Luv - Sheila

Regarding the suppressive action of walnuts on levothyroxine absorption. Here's

a link to a paper which mentions it:

http://journals.lww.com/theendocrinologist/abstract/1995/05000/absorption_of_oral_thyroxine.9.aspx

Frustratingly, it doesn't go into any detail so exactly how many one would have

to eat to have this effect and whether it's OK to eat them X amount of time

after taking the levothyroxine isn't covered. The only other papers I've seen

using Google Scholar which look like they might contain more details are

subscription only :-(

It could be worth knowing for anyone who like I was, is eating large amounts of

walnuts.

I shall take a look on Pubmed to see if I can find more information.

Regards,

Sue
