Guest guest
Hi I am taking T3 only. Have stopped taking the T3 for a few days as I overdosed (as diagnosed by Private doc) and experienced fatigue and constant heart palputations. I am starting the T3 again today. How much T3 should I start with and when do I increase it so that I dont overdose again? I really need to slowly incease the T3 bit confused how to do it. I normally take 4 doses a day on wake up, then four hourly with last dose at bedtime (to help me sleep). I have no thyroid (had thyroidectomy) and the most I took prior to overdoing was 44mcg I cant get past this amount seems to be the most I can take. Thanks :-)
Guest guest
Donnam, I would imagine that the way to dose it is pretty much the same way as people take armour.... go up slowly until you feel hyper, then stop for a day and go back to the previous dose. How did you feel on 44 mcg? When you think about it, a normal replacement dose of T4 is 125 - 150 mcg, so this would equate roughly to 30 - 40 mcg of T3.... Is there any reason why you would want to take more than this? Cellular resistance or something? I'm assuming you have checked your adrenals and they are all ok? and that you supplementing for them if you need it? T3 can be a bit hard on adrenals and this would cause you to flake out mid afternoon, have a thudding heartbeat and general feelings of just being unwell (I've been there).. . > > Hi I am taking T3 only. > > Have stopped taking the T3 for a few days as I overdosed (as diagnosed by Private doc) and experienced fatigue and constant heart palputations. >
Guest guest
Thank you so much . I didnt think I was taking enough... when I took Levothyroxine I took 125mg. I changed to Erfa became toxic I dont seem to convert the T4 so Dr put me on T3 only. for a while I felt ok on T3 44mcg but couple of months after I felt so tired and my heart rate was 116 p/m resting. At this point I didnt feel like I was taking enough though as i felt tired alot hence trying to increase it. Yes have done an saliva adrenal test results should be back in a couple of weeks. Did one 6 mths ago and adrenals have improved abit. I take Nutri Adrenal supplements. Will gradually increase and take my temps and pulse and once im at a level i feel ok will hold i there for a bit.... Thanks again > > Donnam, > > I would imagine that the way to dose it is pretty much the same way as people take armour.... go up slowly until you feel hyper, then stop for a day and go back to the previous dose. > > How did you feel on 44 mcg?
