Guest guest
There are some things we simply cannot get around and I think you will have to accept that getting your appointment brought forward from 3rd June to 16th May is the only way to go. I would, however, ask the GP if he could order the blood tests you need before then. You do not need to wait to get the blood tests done at the same time as the SST - as you will only have to wait a longer period of time before you actually get the results. We have to learn that we need to be assertive in getting what we want (need) . I very much doubt it would help at this point in time to write to the Chief Executive as I doubt s/he could help in this matter right now. I would save doing that in case you need to do so at some point in the future. Luv - Sheila I was offered an initial appointment of 3rd June after seeing the Endo for the first time last Friday to have my blood tests done and the synacthen test. I feel too ill to wait this long & so followed Sheila's advice & called today to say I felt too ill to wait that long & could I have an earlier appointment..... The earliest they will offer me is 16th May even though I explained I didn't mind waiting until 3rd of June for the adrenals test & that I wanted my bloods done as a priority. They responded by saying that they don't offer just blood tests as they are an investigation unit & they have been requested by the doctor to conduct all the testing at the same time. She suggested that if I 'just' wanted my bloods done then I should go back to my GP & see if they will do it for me. GGGrrrrrr!!!!! Why should we have to go round & round in circles just to get blinkin tested?! I mentioned that I will be writing to the Chief Executive & will await my 24hour salivary test results to see what goes in that letter. 16th May still seems like a long time away to me for blood test results! Does anyone else think so?
Guest guest
Phone your GP receptionist if your local walk in centre can do blood tests and if so ask for the phone number. Where I live there is a central Phlebotomy phone number to call to arrange and appointmenht. I can usually get an 8.30 am appointment at short notice. All they ask is for you to take your blood test request form. If your Endo ordered it, the results will be sent to him, but your GP should get a summary sent to them too. Worth at try. a
