Guest guest
Hi. No B12 definately NOT normal..... or may be normal for your doc but perhaps he has a lot of ill patients and doesn't know why!! You need the B12 to be towards the top of the range althought the NHS don't treat until it drops below 200. In Japan they treat anything below 600... Vit D isn't high enough according to the lab...... Vit D softgels, 2400 mcg are what I take.... from BigVits.co.uk. > > Hi All, > I have finally got my test results back for Vitamin D & B12 and I wondered if people think they are ok? > My GP says they are " normal " but I have learn't now to take " normal " with a pinch of salt. >
Guest guest
Hi : Your B12 is much too low...B12 must be at the top of the range at all times. So with this range level, it should be at 900. D3 should be at LEAST 50. Yours looks good, if you want to bring it up to 75 you can...... Cheers, JOT > B12: 224ng/L (180-900) > > Total 25 hydroxy Vitamin D3 64.6 nmol/L > 25 hydroxy Vitamin D2 <6 nmol/L > 25 hydroxy Vitamin D3 64.6 > > Lab results say: > <25 nmol/L Severe Vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D replacement required. > 25-50 nmol/L Vitamin D deficiencySupplementation is indicated. > 50-75 nmol/L Vitamin D may be sub-optimal, and long term there may be clinical effects. Advise on safe sun exposure and supplementation may be indicated. > >75 nmol/L Adequate Vitamin D.
Guest guest
Thanks , Yes it is shocking that the lab result even states " Sub Optimal and Supplementation may be indicated " yet they didn't suggest I did anything? The last time I went in the GP just said " normal " and this time I saw a different doctor & asked for the printout. You'd think that faced with a patient who is suffering with chronic fatigue, breathlessness, aching all over, low blood counts etc they'd suggest supplementing " just incase " it helped in someway?? Funny, however how they are keen to hand over prozac and painkillers like they are sweeties?? Sorry rant over! Thanks again, x p.s Very interesting about the Japan levels, quite a difference in the suggested ranges there!
