Guest guest
Hi blood tests ONLY show the level of thyroid hormone that is in your blood, so are pretty useless really. You need to know the level of thyroid hormone that is actually being used by the cells and tissues. If this was me, I would start a trial using half a grain (30mgs) for 7 days, and then add another 30mgs and stay on that for 3 weeks, before adding another 30mgs daily. Increase in this way (unless you are having symptoms of hyPERThyroidism) until you find the level of thyroid hormone replacement your body requires. Go to our FILES section and check out the folder 'Natural Thyroid Extract' and in there, you will find the FILE 'How to Use natural thyroid extract' and read all the information there. Luv - Sheila i am thinking of trying NDT to see if it gets basal temp up from 36c which is where it is now ; do you think it's best to get tests done of baseline t4 + t3 or just start a trial? i suppose it is best to test really isn't it. maybe i should also give it longer for the T to work as the dr i spoke to said it takes 6-12 months to have a metabolic effect. Any thoughts? Thanks chris ps - sorry to anyone i owe an email to, been busy lately too busy to reply to stuff
Guest guest
hi chris ...i was wondering how you were feeling after (i think) two testosterone jabs so it's good to hear you feel a bit better. i think you'd be wiser to wait at least a few more weeks/t jabs until even thinking about trying ndt and to be honest, given the apparent state of your adrenals when you had the synachten test it would make more sense perhaps to concentrate of nurturing them first, or are you still taking hc? have you completely discounted the hcg diet because that seems to me tailor-made for you { 'scuse the pun on your name } well done for dumping sugar and resisting junk food, that's a very good achievement. i came across this bit of information the other day ...seems fairly pertinent given your low body temp: " Enzymes are the specialized proteins which facilitate every chemical reaction in the body. Human enzymes are designed to operate at a constant temperature of 98.6 degrees. When the temperature drops more than 0.4 degrees below that, symptoms may appear from every part of the body due to the fact that enzymes are not functioning correctly thus slowing metabolism. " http://www.medical-library.net/reverse_t3_dominance_syndrome.html >....as kindly drew my attention to what Dr said about protein and thyroid ie high protein using up thyroid i must have missed this info ...is it dr broda barnes or another one do you know? trish > > Hi all > > I thought i'd posted this yesterday. > > I'm thinking about starting NDT again. I am feeling lots better on testosterone - it was, as i suspected, a major cause of my problems (just like sleep apnea, 2-0 to me vs doctors!). there are some
Guest guest
Hi Sheila Thank you for your thoughts on starting NDT, i may start it in the manner you suggest or i may not, i don't know. it is hard to know what to do. Hi Trish, thanks for your reply i was doing well but then the form of T that i'm on wears off quick and don't feel good now at all. next one tuesday. not on HC, no. regarding HCG diet, just concerned about it, want to be optimal on all hormones before i did something like that and i think if i were optimal i'd lose weight anyway? > > i must have missed this info ...is it dr broda barnes or another one do you know? > it's dr barnes from his book sorry for brief reply, feel crap again now.
