If you're only at 301 I would start taking two a day, for a month and then go

down to one. See how you feel... with B12 levels, they need to be at the top of

the range. When you supplement with B12 you must also supplement with a B

complex because you need to keep all the Bs in balance.

When do you get tested again for B12 levels?

Cheers,

JOT

Hi Lyn:

I just had to look it up to see what NAX has:

Ingredients

Each tablet typically provides:

Vitamin C (as Ascorbic Acid)

Vitamin B1 (Thiamin HCl)

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)

Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide)

Vitamin B5 (d-calcium Pantothenate)

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine HCl)

Magnesium (Citrate)

Zinc (Ascorbate)

Chromium Picotinate

Bioflavonoids

Choline Bitartrate

Adrenal tissue concentrate

Pituitary tissue concentrate

It is missing Folate and missing Biotin......and so I'd have to say these are

very important......and B12. If it were me, I'd take an extra B Complex to make

sure you get those two in your system.

Cheers,

JOT

It's also worth noting B12 is NOT a daily supplement. The body stores B12 so if

you are low take a booster for a few days or a week and you should be fine.

Generally speaking B12 supplement once a week is more than enough to ensure good

coverage.

LOL they would say that wouldnt they if they're selling it. Mind you Solgar are

very good.

Another thing to consider with B12 (it's a funny thing) it's best to take it

sublingual (as mentioned) because under the tongue it's abosrbed in to the blood

stream rather than through the stomach, which B12 struggles with. And yet

another point to consider. Though your B12 standard blood test may look good,

this does not mean you are properly able to absorb B12, especially through the

stomach. There is a much better test (the name eludes me) which actually records

how much B12 you have absorbed. So if you are showing signs of B12 deficiency

and your bloods appear OK, you may wish to check if your body is actually

absorbing it in enough quantities.

Sorry it's all a bit vague but I did do some serious research years ago but

sadly those braincells are long gone :)

You could just go by the label and see how you feel?

Hi L:

I wouldn't bother with what your bottle says. That is generalized information.

B12 is a water soluble vitamin which gets used up every day in your body. But

you can take too much, in that case you may experience overdose symptoms.

My B12 levels are good so I take 1000 mcgs every other day to maintain the good

levels. If you are low on B12, you will need to supplement more in the beginning

to raise your levels and then bring it down a bit to maintain your levels.

So, back to my original answer to your question, if I were you I'd take 2

1000mcgs a day for 3-4 weeks, and then I would bring it down to 1000 mcgs a

day......See how you feel ......hold steady there for a while until you get new

blood labs.....B12 doesn't raise your levels overnight, it will take a while to

bring up your levels, slow and steady is the best rule to follow.

Cheers,

JOT
