HOW FREQUENTLY do you increase?

Hi , Depends on what thyroid replacment you are using. If the med contains T4 then increasing doses at 6 week intervals is sensible as T4 takes 25 days or more for levels to stabilise. T3 however is assimilated much more quickly, so there I'd have thought a week- 10days between increases- small ones of 10mcg and slowing the rate of increase as you near optimum- after all you have to let you body get used to the availability of a very potent hormone that it has previously not had sufficient of. with T3 is it easy to go over the top but then just go back to the level you were on before you felt hyper. Sometimes the differences can be subtle. Have A look in the files. I know Dr. P wrote a good paper on how to take NDT which is there. > thyroid treatment > From: tanyaking32@...> Date: Mon, 10 Jan 2011 12:04:43 +0000> Subject: HOW FREQUENTLY do you increase?> > when trying to raise low thyroid levels how often do you do it?> i cant remember where but read somewhere about leaving it to long allowing symptoms to rise a gain?> .x> > > > ------------------------------------> > TPA is not medically qualified. You take thyroid hormone replacement tablets on a daily basis

for the rest of your life. If your body is not getting the thyroid hormone it

needs to make it function naturally, then you simply need to replace it. You

may need to titrate your dose until you find the level of thyroid hormone

replacement that takes away your symptoms and signs and makes you feel well.

when trying to raise low thyroid levels how

often do you do it?

i cant remember where but read somewhere about leaving it to long allowing

symptoms to rise a gain?
