UTI's -treatment with Vagifem (oestradoil) - risks and benefits anyone?

GP has put me on this treatment and it seems to be helping with urine infections

but... I have concerns about it's origins (is it chemical? or produced from some

other animal species?).

Also what are the risks for cancer (gp said it's better than 'conventional HRT'

as it's 'local'ie. pessaries. I did read that a vaginal ring (what ever that

is!??) is better than pessaries. I've heard the 'local' argument before from

doctors as I don't buy it!!

Anyone any thoughts, knowledge and experiences?
