Guest guest
Margaret- I have been very successful with Zofran for nausea. I started on 4mg and when they moved my Gleevec up to 800mg, I seemed to need the 8mg of Zofran. Works quickly and I have noted NO other side effects. I have severe nausea, vominting and diarrhrea so it has been a god send to me. S. RN [ ] nausua Has anyone found a herbal tea remedy to deal with nausua? I use Promethazine 25 mg and Metoclopram 10 mg but they only work for a few hours and make me sleepy. I have bouts (4-6 days) of nausua when I'm too nausuated to eat anthing other than yougart and then take gleevec which makes me more nausuated...it becomes a vicious circle. Thanks for any suggestions. Margaret Margaret , mpraymond@... margaret-raymond@...
Guest guest
Margaret, I too struggled with the nausua but then I began eating (not right but eating) before taking the gleevec and it subsided. I eat and take the pill during my meal, which is at night so if I do become nausuated, I go right to sleep. However, that hasn't happened in years doing it the way I described earlier. Good luck... Guest guest
I had a terrible time with the nausea when they switched over from the capsules to the pills. At the time, the most popular remedy seemed to be Zofran (a prescription drug). Everyone who used it, said it worked perfectly. Just to let you know, my nausea did eventually go away but it took several months. Like said, I found that eating something sweet really helped....chocolate worked best Take care, Tracey dx Jan 2002
Guest guest
I lost my hard drive last week and realize I am late in answering this. Dr. O'Brien from MD suggested that putting the pills into a capsule and taking them helped reduce the nausea and upset stomach. It really helped me a lot. I have also taken Zofran, Compazine and Phenergan. I thought Phenergan worked best for me, but it made me so sleepy, I would only take it in the evenings. Zofran worked better in the day. I also found that certain foods would make my stomach more upset and I was cognisent to realize which those were and to stay away from them in the mornings when I took medication. However, over time I found that I did not need anything on a regular basis, and instead found that my body got used to Gleevec and they symptoms disappeared.
