Supplements to prevent thyroid nodules

I have hyperthyroidism caused by a 3cm autonomous nodule on one side of my thyroid. I have been taking PTU but have to keep increasing the dose to keep it under control. I am just about to have surgery to have the nodule and probably half my thyroid removed. I would very much appreciate some advice about which supplements I should take to support my thyroid before and after the surgery and to try to stop any of the remaining small nodules from getting any bigger or starting to produce hormones. I have looked at ithyroid.com but I can't get any of its pages to open and it mainly seems to be about Graves disease which I don't have.
