Lovely story and what an acheivment after having RAI you've done yourself proud...

Jaki

I have to just share this with you all after all your fantastic support. I have had graves disease for 8 years and spent those years feeling so ill. I had radio active iodine treatment a year ago and went underactive very quickly with my tsh I battled against my gp for t3 and eventually he gave in

I decided to take t3 alongside levothyroxine and started on 150mg levo and 4o t3, within 4 weeks i felt a lot better and after 6 weeks my tsh was 3.1 and i feel more normal than i have in years. If someone had told me a year ago that i would be having rai, giving up smoking and managing to lose weight too i would have laughed, i hope this helps anyone that is struggling as i was not very long agoTake care Dee xx

Thats fantastic Dee, happy to hear you are in top form... gives me lots of hope !! I am also on combination, at the moment 75 mcg levothyroxine & 20mcg T3 I am not so sleepy during the day but still haven't found motivation or strength to do all the things that I 'think' about, my head is so very busy most days but no staminia to follow through.

May your journey in good health continue.

I was taking 100mcg Levothyroxine & 30mcg T3 when this test was taken, I had a

run in with the locum Nurse that day, I explained to her that the Consultant

Endo had ordered the test because I was under trial with T3 but I had forgot to

bring the Bio envelope the consultant gave me, these were the results?

No meds taken before the test

TSH 0.10 (0.35 – 5.00)

Free T4 11.5 (9.0 – 21.0)

No results for Free T3 or Total T3

The Lab notes states :- THY: Either adequate or slight over-replacement with

thyroxine.

Is the patient clinically euthyroid?

Levothyroxine was then reduced to 75mcg and T3 remained the same (30mcg) sorry

my last post says 20 mcg typo error- must have been in sleep mode :-)
