Guest guest
Hi Val2, The Tsh shows that you are not on enough meds, Ideally it should be under 1. Ignore this silly 'doctor' and find yourself one who has a clue. Don't even think about him, you have enough to contend with and you've obviously done alright up to now. Unfortunately, because we have the NHS, many of us have had it drummed into our heads that we are incapapble of looking after ourselves and that the docs will do it for us. In countries where there is no NHS and where people have to pay for every consultation, people are much more clued up about looking after their own health. The smoking clinic.... hmmmmm.... not that sure it's a good idea. If you take nicotine replacement it just prolongs the agony and has a fairly low quit rate..... have a look at www.whyquit.com and download a quit meter.... I've not smoked for 1year,3months, 4 days. 9,162 cigs not smoked, £2,565.36 less in debt than I would have been!! It's brilliant!! Good luck.... and believe in yourself, you have more knowlege than most of us on here if you've been a nurse, and many of us are confident enough to sort out our own health! x > From: thyroid treatment_Chat > [mailto:thyroid treatment_Chat ] On Behalf Of > fluffywitch1812 > > Hi everyone, > I haven't been on the site for ages.I am in the process of moving, so > feeling a bit stressed at the moment.I recently visited the GP's with a view > to being referred for smoking cessation. However because of being overweight, > I'm concerned about putting on anymore.I have tried but nothing happens > except I feel sick with hunger.I mentioned to him that I have been diagnosed > with hypothyroid, by Dr Peatfield. He nearly had a heart attack about Armour > and it not being a " real " doc who diagnosed me.
