Guest guest
Liza, Whew!! yes that is interesting...... great that you got a reply, but if he says that hypo people don't make T3, why do 'they' insist we can get better on T4 only? Is he amenable to giving out T3 and then ignoring blood test results then? Can we quote him on the not making T3? Who is he? Is he known to Sheila? Obviously you can't name him on here, but maybe he could go on Sheila's list? Wonder what would happen if we all wrote to an endo - would be interesting to compare the responses..... x ______________________________________________________________________ > His answer was that people with hypothyroidism don't produce any T3 . He says you cannot compare results of function tests of people taking thyroxine versus those who don't. > > Interesting... > > CJ >
Guest guest
It's totally contradictory isn't it? I think everyone writing to endos would be a great idea, just to show the general lack of understanding amongst them. I find it's more effective if you copy another party in on the letter. Seems to focus their response a bit more ;-) x > > Liza, > > Whew!! yes that is interesting...... moderated to remove old message
Guest guest
Hi , you have reminded me of something, an Endo Post for Endo Prats I have often thought that once a year a top ten list of patient concerns was sent to all Endoprats. Just simple list 1 to 10 Thyroid Patients top ten concerns ie top of the list of concerns: 1. Flawed TSH 2. Increase in (range) leaves people undiagnosed and ill 3. Lack of thyroid hormone causes heart disease * (then ref below) 4. Clinical symptoms being ignored 5. Dr unable to treat or diagnose on symptoms or lose their licence 6. Being prescribed anti depressants when we need thyroid hormone etc etc etc Then when the list each year is established, perhaps by a survey here, asking all members to come in and vote for their highest concern, we all print out a certain amount and mail them to the Endos in our own area. So if there were 15 endo-prats, we would print out 15 copies and mail to them. It would cost us ea 15 local stamps and envelopes. Or you could send to local GPs or MPs, with TPA website details and ppl could post them on local noticeboards, leave them in libraries. Drs surgeries............. they could be flyer size being 1/3rd of an A4 page. just a thought at 2am, my mind must be wired........ jennyF > > Liza, > > Whew!! yes that is interesting...... great that you got a reply, but if he says that hypo people don't make T3, why do 'they' insist we can get better on T4 only? > > Is he amenable to giving out T3 and then ignoring blood test results then?
