Guest guest
Obviously you have some underlying condition going alongside your hypothyroidism that is stopping the thyroid hormone from being properly utilised at the cellular level. Your TSH almost throughout all of your treatment has been raised which could be quite simply down to insufficient thyroid hormone replacement, or it might be that you are taking the wrong thyroid hormone replacement. Attached is a document listing some of the reasons why thyroid hormone might not be working as it should. Ask your GP to check your levels of ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc and post the results here, together with the reference range for each of the tests done. Should any of these be low in the reference range, no amount of thyroid hormone replacement can be fully utilised at the cellular level. A 'normal' TSH should be around 1 - a TSH of 3.3 needs investigation as it is too high. All the above results were said to be `normal`! I have another test on 6th July after dosage was raised to 75mcg. The August 2006 tests were requested by an endo`s clinical assistant/GP. I still have symptoms some of which stretch back over 40 years. I have weight gain, muscle pain and hair loss. I hope to get referral to endo on the list at next appointment. I am particularly interested in the first TFT I had,if only I had known then what I know now! I will be glad of any help anyone can offer on this, though I realise there isn`t much to go on.
