Guest guest
> " If you thyroid is normal then you are just a cold person. " That's rubbish, . You should not be cold in June. June! Not exactly the hottest year on record but it's not cold is it. Do you have the results with ref ranges? Please obtain them and post them on here. > Is there anything else that could make me feel so cold all the time? Reduced adrenal function, and growth hormone deficiency can cause intolerance to cold apparenlty, but that sounds different, since it is not cold at the moment. chris > > I have just had the results from the doctor and apparently eveything is normal. So why am I sitting here in a jumper and still feeling cold? And exhausted? And aching all over, as usual. Guest guest
Check out the attached document to see if you could be suffering with any of the listed associated conditions that go along with being hypothyroid that stop your thyroid hormone from working as it should. Also, do ask your GP to test your levels of ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc as again, if any of these are low in the reference range, no amount of thyroid hormone can be properly utilised at the cellular level, and you will continue with symptoms of hypothyroidism. If your GP tries to tell you there is no connection between low levels of these specific minerals and supplements, then print off the second attached document to show the scientific evidence that shows there is a connection. Also, do get your thyroid function test results from your doctor, together with the reference range for each of the tests done and post them here on the forum. No doctor can withhold such information from you under the Freedom of Information Act. Luv - Sheila I am going to make an appointment to see her and discuss this, but I don't hold out much hope as she said to me last week, " If you thyroid is normal then you are just a cold person. " Well, yes, I have always been a cold person but this is ridiculous. I have only taken my jumper off once this year, last week when it was a bit too warm in the car - but then my husband opened hte window and I wished I had kept it on I know it isn't the warmest of springs but even my mum is going around in a t-shirt. ___ 2 of 2 File(s) Why thyroid hormone stops working (2).doc LOW MINERALS AND VITAMINS AND THE THYROID CONNECTION.doc
Guest guest
Are you an alcoholic? I say that to be sarcastic as yes that makes your temperature drop....have you taken basal temperature recordings and your pulse. Ask you GP to give you some recommended reading on a normal healthy person having a low temperature? ask her if she knows that your body function is inhibited by low temperature. Tell her that a study done on rats (sorry dont have reference) whereby the tips of the rats tails were surgical fixed inside the rats abdomen. When this happened the tip of the tail warmed up and as a consequence started producing red blood cells in the bone marrow at the tip of the tail. This doesnt normally happen since obviously the tip of the tail is usually as cold as you probably are!!!!!!! that is one study I am sure you could search for more on the effects of low body temperature on the function of body cells. How absolutely ignorant and ridiculous either that or she is uncaring and spiteful? How can a doc be so stupid as to say such a thing? I am really sorry your GP is an idiot....go back armed with info and if you cant persuade her go to another one...... sally xx I have just had the results from the doctor and apparently eveything is normal.
