I am up to 4gr on NDT (was Armour now ERFA) I am still having the joint pains,

muscle aches and now the fatigue is coming back. I've just felt ICK in general

and was thinking it might be time to try just T3...I've been giving the NDT a go

for about 6 months (maybe a little more)...

My question is if I am moving over to just T3 do I stop the NDT first for a

while then go on T3 or do I just swap straight?

Thanks

Hi , In your shoes I'd reduce the NDT for a fewdays before adding in the T3- to allow the T4 levels to drop a bit- otherwise you may send yourself hyper- which can be scary. Do it a grain at a time as you amy only need to reduce the ERFA a little. > thyroid treatment > From: jtweed15@...> Date: Wed, 27 Apr 2011 21:43:32 +0000> Subject: Going from NDT to T3 only?> > I am up to 4gr on NDT (was Armour now ERFA) I am still having the joint pains, muscle aches and now the fatigue is coming back. You need to ensure you are not suffering with any of the other

associated conditions that go along with being hypothyroid. Check out the

attached document, get your adrenals properly tested, check you are not

suffering with systemic candidiasis or have mercury poisoning through any

amalgam fillings. Ask your GP to check your levels of ferritin, vitamin B12,

vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper or zinc because if any of these are low

in the reference range, no amount of thyroid hormone will be able to get

properly utilised at the cellular level. If all of these are within the normal

range (and be sure to get the figures together with the reference range and

post them here), only then should you consider changing to T3 only.
