Guest guest
Hi Everyone, > been to the docs and managed to get my blood test results -all seven pages of them...yikes! > > Am not sure what to make of my new doc....I didn't really find him very helpful but on the other hand he didn't totally obstruct me. he said I was over treated on the thyroid meds but then backed down when I referred him back to Dr S's letter and told him that I had phoned him re the TSH being 0.02 and the T4 being 25.8 (upper reference level 22.00). He then said it was between me and Dr S. Besides which I had already told him on my last visit that I had just lowered my dose by half a grain (4 grains now)due to the hot weather.. & the GP thought I was mad to lower it! If you remember he thought i was under prescribed till he did the blood tests! oh well.... > > What he did say though was that my liver tests were abnormal and I had failed the diabetes test. Nothing to panic about he said but he wants to repeat the liver and diabetes tests in two months (quote: unless of course I am going to have sleepless nights and he will do them earlier but he would rather not because blood tests do cost us money and time & besides which he would be concerned about me taking up more clinic appointment times....I felt so supported -not!) he has agreed at my insistence to do the B12 -mainly because I pointed out that low levels were a feature in both my autoimmune diseases.... > Am not going to upload seven pages of tests -you'll all go to sleep & I have probably bored you all enough all ready! but here are the ones that see most pertinent. I'd be really grateful for anyones comments or thoughts:- > > Serum alkaline phosphatase (SAP) 153iu/L (30.0-130.0)above range > ALT/SGPT serum 66iu/L (<=33.0) above range > serum potassium level: 4.2mmol/l (3.5-5.3) > serum ferritin level: 173ug/L (30.0-400.0) > Haemoglobin concentration: 15.00g/dl (11.0-14.7) above range > red blood count: 5.34 10*12/L (3.62-4.78) above range > Haematocrit: 0.44 L/L (0.32-0.43) above range > Plasma glucose level (XM0ly) 6.3mmol/L in non diabectics should be <11.1mmol/L random (means i didn't fast before testing) > > I really don't know what half of the above means.....so be grateful if any of you clever people out there know or have any ideas on what i should be considering as my next course of action. i wll send a copy to Dr S though I know he won't be looking ath them for sometime (but probably before my GP does his next round of tests!) may be all I need to do is loose the 4 stone of extra weight I have acrued since this all started! Roll on the start of the HGC diet! > > Thanks > Ange > xx >
