Guest guest
Thank you very much to Sheila and for the helpful advice. Apologies for not coming back earlier- not been great. I have taken it all on board .... but brain fog is making productive thinking tough at the moment. Taken early morning temps for 4 days [only have digital therm] average 35.9. Pulse average 56. I have a very strong suspicion my problem relates to adrenal weakness. I asked to see an endo at addenbrookes cambridge [when at my previous practice about 8 years ago]. They did a synthecin? test which was apparantly normal - but I understand this only shows up full blown s. The result then was to try and increase thyroxine from 25mcg -so havent progressed in all these years - in fact of course have got worse. I have been through many years of extreme stress in my personal life and my poor failing thyroid was bailed out for years by adrenalin... sure of it. There is a total brick wall as regards my Gp. Its thyroxine or nothing. Sheila, I did not get the good doctors list... I take it that these are endocrinoligists who are open to treatment other than t4 [ie t4 and natural - also adrenal support.] Obtained Dr Peatfields book last week and have read through it twice. I am strongly considering seeing Dr Peatfield privately - but if I do so... can he prescribe any required treatment ie natural thyoid or t4 or adrenal support such as cortef or is he 'all natural'? Once again thank you for your help and thanks for listening Love Suzanna > > hi Suzanna > > Sorry i am at work and cannot write much but you should ask for a referral elsewhere, on this board you will see the name dr peatfield mentioned a lot. He practices as a nutritionist not a GP (anymore) but may be able to help you. [Ed]
