Guest guest
Sheila Many thanks for answering my message. I have come off of T4 25mg for about 4 days and with lots of bed rest, I'm feeling somewhat better now. I've still been taking NAX, NUTRI ADRENAL, NUTRI THYROID, PLUS VITC. I'm going to start taking T4 25mg again today, to see if my symtoms get worse again.(Yesterday my GP said its not because of thyroxine (too small a dose) could be a virus) I've had thyroid symtoms for years and been borderline underactive for 3 years. I asked GP for a second opinion at another London hosp. I was given 25mg T4 this Feb and been on it nearly 3 months. I'm very pleased to get it but disappointed it has'nt made much difference yet. Oct 2010 TSH 4.71 --- T413.7 --- T3 5.2 Feb 2011 TSH 7.88 -- T4 10.7 May 2011 TSH 4.40 -- T413.3 About 8 months ago, over the internet, I bought Armour thyroid tablets from valuepharmaceuticals(which cost £34 custom/charges) I've never used them yet. because I was hoping to get treated on the NHS and less costly for me now and future. There still in the cupboard. Last Friday I received a letter from NHS hosp. asking my GP to put T4 up to 50mg, I took extra 25mg T4 that day. I really went down hill that night but I had'nt felt good all week before My questions are:- I did'nt relize T4 converts through the liver, kidneys, skin, brain, etc; so could a large gall stone (that I did'nt know I had till I had a scan) could this cause me a problem converting T4. If my symtoms were caused by T4, once I've stopped taking it, how many days would it take for symtoms to die back down. And if they come back, do you think Armour would help (they are 60mg) or should I try T3. I'm very grateful for any advice, thank you june
