Guest guest
Hi ive recently posted some threads about adrenals and the way i have felt, i have been unwell this week with tiredness, panic attacks feeling weak and also sore thyroid and chest pains. Just thought i would update you all, i was hoping it wasn't my Erfa. I took Jills advice and now taking sea salt and some magnesium, also i having been looking on " stop the thyroid madness " website and it said the following: WHY DID MY HASHI'S GET WORSE ON DESICCATED THYROID (and even Synthroid and other T4 meds)? Easy answer: you have stayed on lower doses too long and you haven't risen high enough, quick enough. Lower doses of desiccated thyroid and other thyroid meds, as well as staying with each raise too long, will FEED the attack, not stop it. You then have further swelling in your throat, or hair loss, or high anxiety, or a raise in your antibodies…and heightened hypo symptoms with a higher TSH. And doctors who aren't knowledgeable about desiccated thyroid might put you back on synthetics, or take you off your meds completely. The solution is to RAISE THE DESICCATED THYROID faster and according to the elimination of symptoms and NOT labs. Most seem to end up in the 3-5 grains area to stop that attack, with a few lower and a few higher. (Also note that some patients with Hashi's have developed adrenal fatigue, and you may need to treat that before you can raise your thyroid meds high enough to stop the attack) ref: http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/hashimotos/ Another good website which said all the symptoms ive been having below. Autoimmune Thyroiditis Atttacks In some cases, the thyroid becomes particularly inflamed, known as a thyroiditis attack. Dr. Langer, author of the book Solved: The Riddle of Illness, refers to thyroiditis as like an " arthritis of the thyroid. " He explains that just as arthritis attacks the joints with pain and inflammation, thyroiditis can mean pain and inflammation in the thyroid for some sufferers. And in particular, during a thyroiditis attack, common symptoms are anxiety, panic attacks, heart palpitations, swelling in the thyroid area, problems swallowing, and frequently, problems sleeping. ref: http://thyroid.about.com/cs/hypothyroidism/a/hashivshypo.htm I have uppped my dose and don't feel so bad today although i did follow the guide in the files, i am going to up again next week by half a grain because i feel a lump in my throat now when i swallow and burning but my other symptoms are sowly going. Thanks to you all and have a good time tommorow Love Alison
