Guest guest
hi, not everyone does well with garlic, you may have another condition called fructose mal absorption, there is a forum also about this and i just copied this info for youfructose_malabsorption_australia/Fructans are not digested in the small intestines of humans. While many health benefits have been attributed to these carbohydrates, they can cause gastrointestinal symptoms in some individuals. We measured the total fructans in 60 vegetables and 43 fruits using the Megazyme fructan assay. Vegetables with the highest quantity of fructans included garlic, artichoke, shallots, leek bulb, and onions (range, 1.2−17.4 g/100 g fw). Fruits with low, but detectable, fructans included longon, white peach, persimmon, and melon (range, 0.21−0.46 g/100 g fw).i've realised that one top of treating my thyroid with NDT i have also had to look to my diet as this was causing me some fatigue, headache and nausea symptoms. i've done an elimination diet and found that i can't tolerate onions, gluten, milk and potatoes definitely(good ol' british staples eh?) i've just literally crawled out of bed after trying onions again in a soup on saturday, on sunday afternoon i crashed, on monday & tuesday had a sickening headache, nausea and overwhelming fatigue and now have even more time off work to worry about. we people definitely need a holistic approach as i suspect we all have additional issues which stop us from getting as well as we'd like - this may not be your issue, but the elimination diet costs nothing to try, in addition to your thyroid medsdeb xx
