Hi Sheila,

I don't fall into this cateogory as I have never been prescribed T3 or T3 containing medication, only 50mcgs of T4, B12 and D2 Ergocalciferol (300,000U) every 3 months. The B12 is B12 only and not B12+ which I understand has Folic Acid added, in the past it has looked as if my B12 levels were higher, but in reality because my Folic Acid was/is low the B12 sits there. This concoction does not enable me to lead a normal life and my mobility has deteriorated and my mental function varies (brain fog is much worse under stress and from the 2nd month into the 3 month period) .

Sheila, shouldn't we have another register for people like me who have never received adequate medication and nutritional supplimentation, bloods still within range TSH 3.19 (> 3.5) after stopping T4 for a month and was at the end of my 3 month injection period, I was in a dreadful state, physically and mentally. I know there are lots of people out there in the same position.

The TPA East Anglia Group has had a slow start, but once my mother has finished her move I will be able to spare more time to it.

My eldest son gets married on the 18th June and I'm needing all of my cash for that, but I hope you all have a wonderful time in Skipton and God willing I'll be able come and meet everybody next year.

The Charity, Thyroid Patient Advocacy www.tpa-uk.org.uk is in the process of creating a World Register of Counterexamples to levothyroxine-only (T4) therapy. This short survey is applicable only to those who continued to suffer symptoms on T4-only therapy, and who found those symptoms were mitigated or disappeared once they were started on a T3 hormone containing product, whether synthetic or natural desiccated thyroid.

The existence of counterexamples to T4-only therapy prove incontrovertibly that endocrinology's stance is dangerously wrong. Their continuance of practising in line with the T4-only treatment dictat for all sufferers of the symptoms of hypothyroidism is pernicious.

It is long overdue for endocrinologists to recognise that the symptoms of hypothyroidism can result from (a) insufficient secretion by the thyroid gland or ( insufficient levels of thyroid hormones in the body, associated with peripheral metabolism and peripheral cellular hormone reception.

The studies concluded that T4/T3 combination worked no better than T4-only therapy for 900 participants, but already, the TPA Register shows 868 counterexamples (to date) to T4 only therapy. Our aim is to find at least 1000 counterexamples in order for us to challenge those flawed results. The objective of this Register of Counterexamples to T4-only therapy is to draw to the attention of those responsible authorities throughout the world, the dire need for an urgent re-examination of the existing protocol for the diagnosis and management of the symptoms of hypothyroidism.
