Guest guest
Hi Tina Do i understand right that you were feeling better on 6nax, and 4 grains of NDT a day, but then stopped the NAX in order to do an adrenal test, and now feel worse? Or is it that you were on the above, and started to feel worse before you stopped NAX? wavering temps are supposed to be adrenal symptoms aren't they - the tooth extraction sounded quite bad too, and if you've stopped NAX too, then that might all point to adrenal? i may have missed something but why are you doing an adrenal test now? > > Hi All, > > I will try and keep this brief. > > After getting worse over a period of 3 years on Levothyroxine from the GP and no hope of any other treatment I read Dr P's book found this site, and decided to take matters into my own hands whilst waiting for an appointment with Dr P. All well and good, he told me to keep doing what I was doing with regard to vits and minerals. As I had sluggish adrenals was put on NAX for a while before prpogressing with NDT. Guest guest
H Tina, I am so sorry to hear of your predicament, but it could be solely down to the nasty tooth extraction. However, whilst you are stopping the Nutri Adrenal Extra, carry on taking high doses of vitamin C and your natural desiccated thyroid. Ask your GP to test your levels of ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc because if any of these are low in the reference range, no amount of thyroid hormone can be properly utilised at the cellular level and you will get symptoms of thyroid toxicity until whatever you are low in has been supplemented. When the results are back from the laboratory, ask for these, together with the reference range for each of the tests done, and post them here on the forum so we can help with their interpretation. Is there any possibility you could be suffering with systemic candidiasis or could you have mercury poisoning caused through amalgam fillings? Two more problems that would stop your thyroid hormone suddenly from working. Check out the attached document and go through this with a fine tooth comb. As you got up to 6 NAE daily, it could be that these are not enough to boost your adrenals and you may need to go on a course of hydrocortisone, but we will wait and see what results come back from Genova before going down that road. When you send in your samples to Genova, do tell them that you have been taking 6 NAE daily and exactly how long you stopped the tablets before doing the 24 hour saliva test in case this helps with their interpretation of your results. All well and good, he told me to keep doing what I was doing with regard to vits and minerals. As I had sluggish adrenals was put on NAX for a while before prpogressing with NDT. I was making a slow and fair improvement, not feeling quite 100%, but Rome was not built in a day. However, in the past couple of weeks I have been feeling as the adrenal symptoms have been coming back with a vengence. My temperature from being within a couple of points of being normal has plummited to as low as 35.2, I've never had it as low as that before. I was on up to 4 grains of NDT and up to 6 NAX tablets depending on what sort of day it was. I have now stopped the NAX as I am awaiting a Genova adrenal kit. I will also be aranging a phone appointment with Dr P. I am also taking my temp 4 times a day as per the adrenal info.Temp ranges from 35.2 - 37.0 in 3 hours ??? 1 of 1 File(s) Why thyroid hormone stops working (2).doc
Guest guest
Hi Shiela, Thankyou for your prompt reply. With regard to the list of vits and minerals mentions, I have been supplementing with them for at least 5 months. Taking 4mgs of vit C sublingual Jarrow B12, and all of the others, along with adaptogens and the NAX. I will endevour to get a blood test done, but last time I couldn't even get to see an Endo, hence the visit to Dr P, although I am glad of the visit as he gave me faith that there are still a few doctors out there who care about the patient and put them first. I had a candida test at Genova and it came back positive for IgA so I embarked on a course of Flucozanole, that was interupted by the tooth thing and I started again afterwards. The thing is, I felt a lot better before the candida treatment, so I don't think the candida is the cause in this case. Please advise if you think differently. I did have a deep amalgum filing removed as part of the extraction. If this has contributed to the problems, how long does it go on for? I was physically shaking afterwards, and believe me I am not in the habit of doing that. I have had petrol bombs thrown at me in the past without turning a hair! I have been Gluten free and as I am on the consolidation part of the HCG diet. I am processed sugar free. only eating the fruits allowed. I will inform Genova of the circumstances as you advise. Once again thankyou for your help. Kindest regards, Tina. > > H Tina, I am so sorry to hear of your predicament, but it could be solely > down to the nasty tooth extraction.
