Hi Susie,

I did the same test last week and I did my last sample at 10pm.

I think you will be fine doing it when you normally go to bed.

I couldn't stay up till 12 midnight either!

Good luck!

I certainly didn't do mine at midnight (I'm too much out for the count:) I think mine was, as you said about 9ish. If in doubt, can you phone the their enquiries. If it's Genova, I found them v helpful.Alison>> Hi all> I'm going to do the adrensl saliva test tomorrow. I'm a bit concerned about when to do the last sample, as I've seen it >

Hi Susie,

Just one thought if you are doing the adrenal saliva test tomorrow with it

being a bank holiday weekend - samples are usually returned to Genova

Monday - Thursday using next day delivery - so it might be helpful to do it

on Monday ready for posting on Tuesday.

Best Wishes.

Hazel.

question about doing the adrenal saliva

test

Hi all

I'm going to do the adrensl saliva test tomorrow. I'm a bit concerned about

when to do the last sample, as I've seen it referred to before as a midnight

sample, but it says on the instructions to collect it before going to bed -

for me that'll be about 9.30! Do I do it then or set an alarm for midnight?

I'm concerned that being woken up by an alarm will effect my cortisol

levels! I don't have to stay up till midnight do I?

Thanks

Susie

So long as you put in a note when you send your sample kit back

to tell Genova that you did the last test at 9.30 (or whenever you do it), that

should be OK, but it really would work out much better if you tried to stay up

as late as you possibly can on this occasion to try to get a true result

because the circadian rhythm changes throughout the day, and it really is

important to try to get as near to those times as you can.

Cortisol secretion should be at its highest when we wake to help

us get through the day, and at night, it should be at it's lowest to help us

sleep.
