Guest guest
EFRA is a combination of T4/T3 thyroid replacement. Like any thyroid supplement, you should support the adrenals first if they are in need. Guest guest
Well Any added (not your own), thyroid hormone is a supplement; that is it supplements your natural supply.... so it is a supplement. further it is not a drug. It isnt necessarily replacing ones own thyroid hormone; therefore it isnt a replacement but rather supplementing and therefore a supplement. So I would argue its not a Replacement but most definately a Supplement! Semantics maybe....I'll agree to differ if you do, since I doubt you can change my mind! tehe. xx Hi Sally, actually, Erfa 'Thyroid' (natural desiccated porcine thyroid) is not a 'supplement', it is thyroid hormone replacement. I'm a niggler, I know! Luv - Sheila ERFA thyroid is a thyroid supplement. ERFA is the manufacturing company. So it is a natural desiccated thyroid supplement.....pigs thyroid in other words. Guest guest
Well, I guess we will have to agree to disagree about the use of the 'supplement' when it comes to talking about thyroid hormone replacement. Thyroid hormone replacement is given for the sole reason to replace the thyroid hormone your thyroid gland is not secreting or not being properly absorbed at the cellular level. We need to produce a prescription to get synthetic T4 or T3 or natural thyroid extract in the UK, We don't need prescriptions to buy supplements, which are usually considered to be vitamins/minerals etc, but I agree that some people do talk of thyroid hormone replacement therapy as a thyroid hormone supplement. We could go on forever! Onward and Upward….*grin* Luv - Sheila Well Any added (not your own), thyroid hormone is a supplement; that is it supplements your natural supply.... so it is a supplement. further it is not a drug. Guest guest
With respect sheila, whether you buy or you are prescribed something makes absolutely no difference. We dont actually need prescriptions to buy Thyroid Hormone supplements ....TPA web site is a testiment to that. I get prescriptions for B12, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vitamin B complex etc etc.....they are not replacements as a consequence of being prescribed, they are remain supplements regardless , since they are supplementing either my own body supply due to deficiency or my dietary supply of the same which for some reason is inadequate for my situation. For those who have absolutely no thyroid...removed surgically, then indeed ARGUABLY it may well be considered as REPLACEMENT, but for those of us WITH a thyroid gland which may not be working as it should but which may well be producing something then we really are simply SUPPLEMENTING Thyroid hormone which is being produced by our body because we are not making adequate amounts ourselves..; that is we are deficient Calling it a Thyroid Hormone supplement doesnt down grade it in any way. The stuff that you buy from Nutri Ltd, I would refer to a Thyroid Hormone support, just as I refer to adrenal hormone support, since I couldnt actually say (because the company doesnt guarantee it) that the thyroid hormone is being supplemented by its product, but I can say the thyroid hormone (or even thyroid gland function,) is being supported by its product. Anyhow, we have agreed to differ as we both have our own (valid) reasoning....tehe.... thank goodness otherwise I think I may have got my leaving card in the post tomorrow morning. Quite right onwards and indeed upwards; *grin grin* Luv Sally xx Well, I guess we will have to agree to disagree about the use of the 'supplement' when it comes to talking about thyroid hormone replacement.
