Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to all this, I am afraid and I've just remembered something else that I should have mentioned when I was recently asking for advice. I'm probably doing this the wrong way by selecting a new topic, but it's advice I want again, please! I've been trying to find a cure for my ME for a long time and last year I started to attend a clinic in London where I was treated for Adrenal Fatigue and also told that I was hypothyroid. For this I was given Iodine tablets! I started to develop a goitre and had trouble swallowing. The clinic did not seem able to help me and so I moved on to a consultant endocrinologist in London who stopped the Iodine immediately. I did all the usual tests with this guy and was eventually sent home, much poorer, but being told that there was nothing wrong with me, except for low Progesterone. I refused to believe that it could be just that and went to see Dr. Peatfield, who put me on my current medications, stating that I was just about the clearest case of hypothyroidism he had ever seen! When I started on the Armour, after a few weeks of adrenal supplementation and candida elimination, I started to develop the goitre again. Dr. Peatfield was surprised at this as he had never heard of it happening like this and told me to continue the Armour, which I am obviously doing! Has anyone heard of problems like this with goitre developing after starting Armour?

Guest guest
It is an unusual one Jackie. How much Armour and how quickly does it occur?......It may settle down and improve if you continue with it....are you taking anything else at all? The other option would be to stop again (the Armour) and just check that is what is causing it? I think if it was me I might do that just to see if it is the Armour; but would def go back on it and continue to increase the dose until I felt well...it may be at this point the goitre will reduce in size. Guest guest
Dear Sally, Thank you for replying. I am actually Vicki and you had this morning replied to me regarding my "Advice regarding Armour Thyroid" question. I tried to reply to that one but was told by Lilian that it had been rejected and that I should re-send it but delete previous emails. I tried that, but then zapped your reply to me totally and then the computer crashed. so, I am not very well checked out on this Mail thing! In that previous email I tried to thank you for the info and told you that I was on all of the adrenal supplements advised by Dr. Peatfield but that does not include magnesium, which I have now started and thanks for that advice. I might come off the Armour, as you suggest, but I am afraid of reverting to the person I was a little while ago. Now at least I can do SOME things, whereas before the Armour I was virtually bedbound and had been for years. I'll certainly wait until after the weekend before I come off the Armour. How long should I stay off it, do you think? Regards, Vicki From: Sally Jarvis <wollertonbank@...>thyroid treatment Sent: Thu, June 16, 2011 6:02:10 PMSubject: Re: Goitre It is an unusual one Jackie.
