Guest guest
Hi all, Are there any sympathetic NHS GPs in the North London area? Which NHS thyroid specialists and endos in + around London are recommended as being helpful? Which private doctors and specialists are recommended? Is Dr C in Hendon worth going to? Please could I be sent a copy of the good doctors list? I would be extremely grateful if the above could be sent privately to me, as I understand doctor's names are not publicly published in the group. I am very frustrated by the lack of help from the GPs at my local surgery. Basically I have been shouted at and/or fobbed off. My cholesterol levels have been high over the years, and recently my vitamin D level was a bit low. My oral Basal temp over 10 days was between 96.5 and 97.0 For over a month before that I was taking my temp in the morning, and evening and my temp never went higher than 98.1. I have several symptoms and signs of hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue. The GPs at my local surgery do not seem to take me seriously. Last week I showed my GP (apparently he was a thyroid endo for 30 yrs) the following results which I paid for privately in June 2011, and they were not taken seriously. The GP was just happy that my serum cortisol 9am test was normal. Adrenal Stress Profile: Sample 1 11.1 (L) Range 12-22 Sample 2 6.2 Range 5.0 to 9.0 Sample 3 2.4 (L) Range 3.0 to 7.0 Sample 4 0.5 (L) Range 1.0 to 3.0 Total Daily Cortisol 20.2 (L) Range 21-41 DHEA Sample 2 (am) 0.77 Sample 3 (pm) 0.5 DHEA Mean 0.64 Range 0.4 to 1.47 DHEA: Cortisol Ratio 3.14 Range 2.0 to 6.0 Total Thyroid Screen: T4 112 Range 58 to 154 TSH 3.13 (H) Range 0.4 to 4 FT4 13.5 Range 10 to 22 FT3 5.50 Range 2.8 to 6.5 FT4:FT3 Ratio 2.5 (L) Range 2.0 to 4.5 TG <20 Range 0 to 40 TPO 42.2 (H) Range 0 to 35 Looking back to previously NHS blood test results, between 2006 and 2007 my TSH levels from blood tests were above the NHS lab range with FT4 normal, yet at the time the GPs and the specialists I was seeing for my CFS/ME said they were okay and nothing to worry about. Between 2007 and now my NHS TSH levels have been in the high twos prior to the above test. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Many thanks, Colin
