Guest guest
I'm about to send my letter of to the Mail on Sunday but thought I'd better check I'd got my facts right about the differences between TSH ranges in different countries. Here is the paragraph from my letter that has the facts bit in it, can you let me know if it's correct and ok to send, >In the UK, if you fall within the range of 0.15 – 5.0, mU/L your thyroid is likely to be considered normal. Yet in the US the upper limit of the range is 3 mU/L and in Germany 2.5 mU/L. Some doctors view a result over 2 as a likely indicator of an underactive thyroid. Should a diagnosis really vary according to what doctor you happen to see and what country you're in? Thanks Debbie
