Guest guest
Dr P told me less Armour/NDT may be needed in warmer weather. Dr P, who uses NDT himself, decreases his dosage in the summer. So, maybe you could try taking this...see if you feel any better.Sent using BlackBerry® from OrangeFrom: "eno_67" <eno_67@...> Sender: thyroid treatment Date: Wed, 23 Feb 2011 00:01:31 -0000<thyroid treatment >Reply thyroid treatment Subject: Armour Thyroid in tropical countries Hi, I am an old member known as Eno. My name is Sadhana. After having had treatment in the UK I went to South America. My very positive experience with Armour thyroid has changed. In the UK it felt so good, now there is so much inner heat. That's why I have to stay in air conditioned rooms if I want to do anything. Is there anyone in a tropical country who has the same problem? Is there anyone who knows someone with the same problem? I don't have internet at home, so I will be back next week. Thank you! Guest guest
Hi Sadhana, I am sorry to hear that you are stiff suffering with the heat. I know that you tell me you keep your thyroid medication in the fridge, but I wonder if, at any time, your electricity was cut off or you left your Armour out accidentally at some time and your tablets may have degraded and this is what is actually affecting you. Just a thought. Have a look at this link http://thyroid.about.com/od/thyroiddrugstreatments/a/drugsinsummer.htm You might try raising your Nutri Adrenal Extra as your heat intolerance could be because your adrenals are not able to cope as they should. Also, heat intolerance may be a symptom of under-treated hypothyroidism and can also be related to perimenopause. Have you considered trying the experiment of increasing/decreasing your thyroid extract by half a grain to see if that helps Sadhana? As you have been suffering from this for so long, have you asked your doctor to find if there is some other underlying cause that needs treating. Luv - Sheila I am an old member known as Eno. Guest guest
Hi Sheila, Thank you very much for the link and advice. I have not accidentally left out my Armour Thyroid outside of the fridge. I'm very cautious with my medication. I did raise my NAE from 1 to 2 as I felt 2 weeks ago that I needed it because I'm stressed by the weather. But I started to have with the heat and Armour Thyroid about 3 months after I entered Suriname. And it's 3 yeras now. I'm in the peri-menopause, that's true. I think it adds to it, but the heat from Armour Thyroid is the main cause... (I guess...) I don't have an endocrinologist here. Guest guest
Hi Lysa, Thank you very much for your reply. I will google and read what they say about NDT.
