Guest guest
Hi Karon, your hypothyroidism is likely due to autoimmune codition called hashimoto`s or autoimmune thyroiditis. but first i see you have not had a TPOab test to see what auto=antibodies are present(if any). also you need a FT3 test! it looks like you are in the final stages of this disease when the gland becomes useless after being attacked for many years. the T4 is a bit low in the range and should be a lot higher. also you may have symptoms of the other autoimmune condition overlapping. best to get doctor to do the tests mentioned and post these to the group. I am surprised that you have not seen a specialist! as doctors rarely treat patients them selves without the advise of an endocrinologist. Angel. Guest guest
Thank you Angel for your response. I already have a Rheumatologist looking after me from the other autoimmune perspective but now it seems I need to see a thryoid specialist. I have had a lot of trouble getting my GP to listen to me regarding the APS and had to fight hard to get proper diagnosis and treatment. With the APS it had me suffer with alot of obstetric problems in my twenties and I do remember way back then how the obstetrician looking after me would always remark about my thyroid tests and how I always seemed to have copious amounts of thyroid antibodies. So I know back then that they were present, but exactly which ones, I have no idea. Like I said, always trusted my GP to know what they are doing with regards to regulating my thyroid. I shall get onto it straight away. Many many thanks > > Hi Karon, your hypothyroidism is likely due to autoimmune codition called > hashimoto`s or autoimmune thyroiditis. but first i see you have not had a TPOab > test to see what auto=antibodies are present(if any). also you need a FT3 test! > it looks like you are in the final stages of this disease when the gland becomes > useless after being attacked for many years. the T4 is a bit low in the range > and should be a lot higher. also you may have symptoms of the other autoimmune > condition overlapping. best to get doctor to do the tests mentioned and post > these to the group.
