Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just got my results back from Genova and I'm thinking that they seem to indicate a *very* low level of cortisol. Can anyone advise me about what is 'normal'? My results were: Overall cortisol level - 8.6 in range 21 - 41 Sample 1 - 6.2 in range 12-22 Sample 2 - 1.5 in range 5-9 Sample 3 - 0.8 in range 3-7 Sample 4 - 0.1 in range 1-3 DHEA was 0.83 in range 0.4 - 1.47 the DHEA:cortisol ratio was high at 9.25 in range 2 - 6 At the moment I am taking vit c and magnesium, also liquorice and ginseng, to try to boost adrenal function. With these numbers, should I be trying hydrocortisone? I'm really upset because the results seem frighteningly low. It makes sense as I am always exhausted and cannot handle stress at all anymore, after about 10 years of non stop massive stress! But I was hoping that it wouldn't be as major as this seems to be. I'd be really grateful for any advice or reassurance from anyone! Thanks for reading, Georgie
