Guest guest
Hi Trish, I agree completely that many gluten free food are full of sugars & fats. It is good for people to be aware of this. I think they are handy initially when people are making the transition from eating gluten containing foods as it can be a big shock for people to suddenly give up all bread, pasta, biscuits etc etc. When I first went gluten free I regularly ate gluten free bread & pasta but now I only eat them occasionaly. I might buy some GF rolls for example if I am travelling a long way as it is convienient to have sandwiches. Instead of packaged GF pasta I now use a spiralizer and make " spaghetti " from courgettes. It taste's really nice once it is coated in homemade pasta sauce! Apart from the health reasons, gluten free processed good are so expensive, eek!! x > ...But replacing lost wheat with manufactured gluten-free foods is little better than replacing your poppyseed muffin with a bowl of jelly beans.
