Guest guest
is willing to do it? Sounds like a great idea!!! Tori From: IPADDUnite [mailto:IPADDUnite ] On Behalf Of Kulczyk Sent: Wednesday, June 24, 2009 7:37 AM IPADDUnite Subject: facebook Initially I had nothing to say about the Facebook idea. I merely felt that if this group switched to Facebook, I'd leave because of privacy issues. Now I'm wondering if we could have the best of both worlds. Could someone build a Facebook page to share what this group is and how to access it, but with most of the Facebook communication features disabled. It could serve as a signpost to people who are looking for this group, but only that. Initial construction would take some time, but be fairly simple. I'm willing to do it. It would be VERY VERY basic, just a signpost. Guest guest
You can do that. You can also ignore " friend " requests. I don't have my photo on my profile page. Someone just looking can only request to be my friend. If that's too intrusive, you can set it so that all they can do is email you, but not friend you. Then you can add them as friends if you want to. I think you can also set it up so that they can't even email you, if all you want is to have Kathy as a friend, and no one else. You can remove " friends " , and you can also make some individual changes. For instance, I have a friend who is a nice enough person, but whose food posts are so disgusting that I've hidden his posts. If he wants to contact me directly, he can. If I want to see what he's doing, I can go check. But his blathering, greasy food posts don't pop up automatically. I like facebook. It is a nice way to see what my loved ones are up to, even when I don't have time to visit or call.On Wed, Jun 24, 2009 at 4:02 AM, Donna M-P <donna112520@...> wrote: You know, one of the things that keeps me off facebook is the desire not to be found by some people. Guest guest
I know the internet has so much to offer, but you have to weigh the good and bad. I assume it would be nice for some but I personally do not use facebook. I know it is all the rage but thats it, I look at it as a fadish concept. Many young folks go in, although there there are positives, there are also negatives. The group would definitely be exposed to rude and disrespectful people who use facebook as a means of getting kicks from making their presence known. I would hope if you do choose to do facebook, there would still be other, more private discussion groups. I know that many times, there are discussions that do not really concern me and my sons situation so I look it over and file it, I like the fact that this is a group of people generally on the same page so to speak. Thanks!
