Guest guest
Hi everyone, My visit to the endo this week was positive, my TSH is now 1.04 (0.05 - 5.5) which he is happy with after being on thyroxine for about 9 months. So that is good, but he ran a complete set of hormone tests and it has shown that my oestrogen is a little low (stupidly I didn't get a copy of the results but I remember it wasn't very much below the ref range). My last menstrual cycle was 53 days long, I'm due on again now but nothing has happened yet. The endo is sending me for an abdominal ultrasound and a repeat of the hormone blood tests plus a test for antibodies against my adrenals and ovaries (I have Hashi's and alopecia). My questions are - is it possible that my body is taking time to bring all my hormones into balance as it is not used to having a normal TSH? Would you advise having the Genova Adrenal profile done, as if the adrenal antibody test is negative the endo might not bother to pursue adrenal fatigue etc? If anyone has any advice I'd be glad to hear it - it's one thing after another at the moment and most of the information online talks about low oestrogen being a factor in early menopause (I'm 31) which I really don't want to hear, as when my period was first late I thought I might be pregnant and was really happy....now I am pretty miserable! He also advised me to try and lose some weight so am hoping that might make a difference. Sorry to be a misery guts! Thanks Adele
