Hello Sheila

I have received all my thyroid test results from the GP,including my first ever

result from 1995. I was convinced then I had been hypo for years-probabaly since

my twenties, Unfortunately I accepted the result as `normal` and did nothing

further until the same GP suggested a test herself in 2004. The test results are

incomplete but I would be grateful if you could make some sort of interpretation

or identify some sort of trend.

17/7/1995 TSH 3.3 (0.5-5.5)nothing else - deemed `normal` and I believed it !

17/03/2004 TSH 6.6 (0.5-5.5) T4 118 (60-180)

30/08/2006 B12 780 (223-1132 On basis of these August results he did not want to

continue thyroxine- I insisted.

31/01/2007 TSH 6.7 (0.5-5.5) T4 111 (60-180)

15/08/2007 TSH 1.1 (0.5-5.5) nothing else

09/07/2008 TSH 3.0 (O.5-5.5) nothing else

27/05/2009 TSH 1.8 (0.5-5-5) nothing else

03/02/2010 TSH 2.0 (0.5-5.5) nothing else

April 2010 TSH 2.4 (0.5-5.5) nothing else, this test requested by

rheumatologist.

13/04/2011 TSH 3.0 (0.5-5.5) nothing else

27/04/2011 TSH 3.3 (0.5-5.5) :T3 5.1 (<7.1): T4 15.2 (11.5-22.7)Lab

suggests there is adequate replacement

TPO <25 (<35)

You have already commented on the final test on the list.

All the above results were said to be `normal`! I have another test on 6th July

after dosage was raised to 75mcg. The August 2006 tests were requested by an

endo`s clinical assistant/GP. I still have symptoms some of which stretch back

over 40 years. I have weight gain, muscle pain and hair loss. I hope to get

referral to endo on the list at next appointment. I am particularly interested

in the first TFT I had,if only I had known then what I know now! I will be glad

of any help anyone can offer on this, though I realise there isn`t much to go on.

Thanks

Chrissie
