Guest guest
Hi Received my latest blood tests today. All `normal` and within range-again!! TSH 3.3 (0.03-5.5). I said surely that should be 1.00 if all was well with FT3 5.1 (<7.1) and FT4 15.2 (11.2-22.7) in the upper third of the range. he said that was incorrect,it was OK if it was within range.Yet my from TSH history since diagnosis in 2004 (0.3-5.5) I have had readings all over the place, from 1.1 to 6.7 that were all deemed to be `normal`. My TPO today was <25iu/mL (<35). I encountered some stonewalling today for the first time on the subject of symptoms being related to HT. They could be all due to other causes etc. Eg. I have arthritis in my back and wrists but nothing that required intervention. Some of my symptoms I have had for 40 years and have never been explained or sucessfully treated. I have fibromyalgia on my med records but the thyroid link with that was not accepted. I thinking he thought I was grasping at straws when in fact I`m angry with myself for being so clueless on many occasions in the past. I quoted Dr P on mucopolysaccherides and muscle pain and asked my GP if he had read the book which I took with me. He replied he had no time for reading,he was working all the time. How do they keep up with medical developments then ?? On a positive note, he agreed to raise my dosage to 75mcg and to retest TFT and B12 in three months, but not the other tests suggested. he saw no link. I offered him the relevant links but I fear he wouldn`t read them. I am taking a good multi vitamin though. He will refer me to an endo of my choice in three months,if there is no improvement. Any comments would be most welcome Chrissie
