Guest guest
Hi, Thought I would quickly introduce myself. I have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for nearly 2 years now, but I basically have all the classic symptoms of hypothyroid that have been accumulating over the past 4 years or so. My symptoms are (in no particular order): extreme fatigue memory loss fuzzier thinking facial fluid retention feeling the cold low basal temperature (average 36.1 last time I did it) poor wound healing dry skin on face and heels and elsewhere takes longer to fight infections gut dysbiosis constipation intially low B12 (now fixed) The NHS have twice done the TSH and free T4 tests and both times values are right in the middle of the healthy range. I know I need a T3 and presumably a reverse T3. I am male and 34yrs. Really why I joined this group was to get some rcommendations for a good doc in the London area who is willing to recognise and treat my hypo symptoms. I have read papers which show there is poor transport into cells in CFS and I think this is probably happening in me. I am waiting for Thyroid UK's list of docs, but I would prefer a personal recommendation and I am definitely prepared to go private as I'm not getting anywhere with the NHS and want to move things forward as quickly as I can. Cheers, Mark
