I've heard of it.. It's when your tsh is high because the thyroid is having to

be driven extra hard to keep producing thyroid hormones. It's usually a sign

that the thyroid is failing because it needs extra tsh just to be normal.

Could well be a sign of early Hashimotos... Do you have antibodies?

Many thanks for your reply. There have been no antibodies found as yet. However my Daughter's Endocrinologist has ordered more blood tests.

So in your experience would you say that it is a diagnosis of being hypothyroid?

Hi all, auto-antibodies if not found in the blood may be still in the thyroid itself. this seems to be what happens in the beginning ,you could ask doctor/specialist for a ultrascan of the gland or fine needleaspiration. to find the cause of the hypothyroidism. Dr Lowe has a site about both of these things. Angel.http://thyroidscience.org. thing this is the site but if not working just google Dr Lowe.
