Guest guest
Thank you so much for that.I have now obtained the reference ranges for my blood test results. I think Im ok in interpreting the Vts D and b12 (good levels) and folate (high) and ferretin (miserably low). But Id be really grateful for any help on interpreting whether my copper, zinc and magnesium are high enough as I have no experience of these (Im guessing that my copper and Zinc are too low?) If they are too low, how can I best raise them without throwing other mineral levels out - its my understanding that overly taking one mineral (e.g. zinc) can result in a depletion of another mineral(e.g. copper)? so how to raise them in a balanced way? Also, I know that this has been discussed before, but any advice on how to raise my persistently low ferretin other than iron injections? I have fairly severe M.E. so dont feel an injection is appropriate as I cant control the dose or build it up gradually, which is what I have to do with everything that I take as I tend to be extremely sensitive and react to things. However, if I start slowly and builid things up gradually, I can usually get there and not react too much to things. Thanks so much in advance for any advice. I do really appreciate it. serum copper - 14pmol/L (11.0 - 22.0) serum caeruloplasmin 0.23 g/L (0.20 - 0.60) serum vitamin D - 126 nmol/L (48 - 144) serum magnesuim - 0.9 mmol/L (0.70 - 1.00) serum zinc - 14.4 umol/L (11.0 - 24.0) serum ferretin - 21ug/L (6 - 81) serum folate >20 ug/L High (4.6 - 18.7) serum vitamin B12 - 1102 ng/L (223 -1132) > > First of all, no doctor can withhold the information that is in your medical > records so you can demand the reference range for each of the tests done. > This is available under the Freedom of Information Act.
