SB 1304 is a bill that restricts persons who have financial investments in pharmaceutical companies that make vaccines from serving on the Immunization Advisory Committee. This seem common sense, but it had to be done in order to give a more balanced discussion to the committee and its findings. We know this is a small step, but at least it's in the right direction! Also, I was able to get in to see the Governor of Illinois this week, who personally guarantee that he would sign both of our pieces -- removing those who use religious or medical exemptions for mandatory vaccinations from investigation by the DCFS (SB 1305) -- AND the conflicts of interest legislation (SB 1304).
