As I wrote recently, I stumbled along, since '76(!) following the repetitive methodology, since it was the Carles method I discovered, and I later found out that is the best method. Repetitive, systematic, plodding at times! I wasted a lot of precious oils, as noted, and FWIK, from feedback, Mandy's workbook focuses on giving you pleasant results, so not so much stuff tossed ;-) Anya http://.com The premier site on the Web to discover the beauty of Natural Perfume / Join to study natural perfumery

They're called -brace yourself- " Dragon Herbarium " - i know, i know - sounds like new-age hocus pocus potion stuff. They sell lots of hard-to-find natural blends like Gardenia. But, check out the essential oils and absolutes pages. VERY interesting. They do claim to carry Castoreum & Castoreum Absolute. & they offer small sizes @ decent $ so you'd not be blowing the budget for the month link: http://www.dragonherbarium.com could be worth a try - let me know what you think if you do try 'em out - Hope this helps- -

It's absolutely amazing what costs and lengths we'll go to to lose weight. I just spent $20,000 for weight loss surgery. Sheesh. Makes $300 per month look like a bargain. >I've decided to take belly dancing classes and get a tattoo on my lower >back once I get to my goal. Belly dancing would be great exercise. Why not have that as your 50 pounds lost reward? I'm intrigued by tattoos. One of my favorite shows is Miami Ink on TLC. I have a small ship from 1984 to commemorate my career as a merchant seaman. I would like to add to that and have my right leg covered from ankle to knee. I already have trouble fitting into suburban mom society here in the northern 'burbs of Houston so this is probably a bad idea. I'm a stay at home mom to my girls ages 6 and 9 but I'll be going to work as a substitute teacher soon. Ann

Guest guest
New member intro Hello everyone My name is (steph) and I just joined Herbal One.Hi Steph, Glad to meet you. I'm . The day I was to join the gym, my dog tripped me and I broke my foot as I FLEW down the stairs. So I had to put off the gym membership until I could actually walk and had the cast removed.Bummer, I bet you might have trouble even after the cast comes off. You might want to ask your doctor before you do any impact type exercises. Then I heard an ad on the radio, and realized the girl on the commercial was a friend of my sisters, so I called Herbal One, and only went for a consultation. I ended up joining that night, to my DH's disagreement as it was not cheap by any means. I had help to pay for the supplements (grandparents), but they backed out and now I have to pay for them ALL. It's roughly $300 a month for them, plus eating properly (follow portion sizes and guidelines).eeeks that seems outrageous to me. I hope you get the results you're hoping for. Ok, now that that's out of the way....I joined the program on March 15, started eating the way they suggested and taking the supplements on the Thursday, March 16, 2006. I went for a weigh in on the next day, and I'd lost 3 lbs! Wow eh? I was soooo impressed and motivated! I can't remember exact numbers and dates, but to date (almost 3 weeks on it) I went from 280.5lbs to 274lbs, and I have lost 8 1/4" all together so far. In 3 weeks! I'd say that's alright. My insulin use has remained at 4 times a day, but I've gone from 26 units each time, to between 5 and 7 units at a time. I can't wait to be skinny! I've always been chubby and "fluffy" since puberty, so I don't remember what it was like not being big. I'm right the opposite I was always the skinnest kid in school. My weight piled on me when I married and got pregnant. It never left. As a matter of fact it kept coming.LOL If anyone has any questions, nothing is too personal to ask, and I'm a very honest person who LOVES to talk and share experiences.ahhhh, i see we could be very good friends. I too say ask away.....and ummmmm. I love to talk too. I'm kinda surprised people here didn't tell me to shut my trap when I first joined.LOL I think there was comments about the post having had a sudden pickup in posts.LOL I don't think it was ever pointed to me but I do have a tendecy to be a little long winded at times.I can't help it, thats just who I am. All i can say is be thankful I have to take the time to type and yall don't have to listen to me in person:) I hope to get to know everyone well, and provide, as well as receive encouragement throught this entire process. Oh, and I live in Ontario, Canada, am 28 years old, and have been overweight for about 20 years. Steph

Guest guest
Laurel, I, personally, commend you for making the effort to self educate. There is not enough training in the schools for administration and there are not enough self motivated educators. I have 3 children. My oldest is 15. She just started highschool this year, & is in the gifted program. My middle child is 8, and is an active, talkative, and athletic little girl. My youngest is almost 4. he has Down syndrome, and is the best little guy in the world. He uses mainly sign language to communicate, but is speaking more & more everyday. he starts school in September, and will be coming to the school I teach at. Right now I am teaching kindergarten. I have an EA for my identified students, but she does more harm than good if you ask me (long story, which I will share later). I think I have set up my class in such a way that it meets the needs of my students. I use a visual schedule, and many other visual aids. We have put together some social stories & have some fidgit toys. I also have a quiet area set up in the room (a bit like a mini snoozelin room). My boys seem very happy in the class, and I have had nothing but positive feedback from their parents. We only have one more month of school, and I will really miss these 2 when they move on to 1st grade. I will try my best not to reveal any personal, identifying information about my students, in order to protect their privacy. Please let me know if I use any incorrect, un-pc, language. I know it drives me crazy when people don't use " people-first " language when referring to my son (calling him a Downs, a Down syndrome boy, or retarded). Guest guest
Welcome, , I am the grandmother of a 13 year old autistic boy that I diagnosed and have worked with for 11 years. I think you will find this group to be empathic and helpful. We have all experienced one or more of the things you mentioned. Karac use to have all of a set too and would melt down until he had them all, i.e. the Jungle Book characters, the Lion King Characters, the Sesame Street characters. He seems to have just outgrown all that, and to tell you the truth I kind of miss it. I think I must be becoming autistic. smile. Guest guest
Hi and welcome! I am another fairly new member to this group. is ten and also has self injurious behaviors. He is non verbal and still in diapers and has a gastronomy feeding tube. Your daughter's behaviors convince me that it can not all be attributed to not having an effective means of communication, although that might be a part of it. Anyway, hello and welcome. Guest guest
Many of her issues are propriaceptory. Pardon my horrendous spelling of that word. And of course they are self soothing. My daughter had very little brain/body connection last year. Now her OT feels she percieves that she is on a diagonal slant (she reads and writes sideways, she falls over, walks sideways requires a lot of weight to be " still " ). She will sometimes whack herself or bite herself when she feels " off " . Her frustration level sets her off as well. If you tell her " No " to a desired item or task, she will bash her head or grab her face like she is trying to rip it off. Em On Sat, 22 Jul 2006 4:29 pm, GEM5860@... wrote: > Hi and welcome!
Her verbal skills have improved, but she still can't get out all she wants. Guest guest
Hi !!!!! I am here in this group too:-) This is a great group with lots of great suggestions! Nice to see you here:-) used to bang her head really baddly. It did not stop until her OT suggested gently squeezing her head side to side and front to back once in awhile and also putting a moderately tight bike helmet on her head for 20 min a day. But with this heat I would skip the helmet until it is cooler. Take care, Shilo > > Hi everyone, > > My name is and I have a 5 year old Moderately Autistic daughter. > She is considered mid functioning. > > Her biggest behavior issues are unfortunately self injurious. Guest guest
Hi , I have a 9yr old son who at times can be self injurous, biting, scratching. He's whacked himself upside the head several times and he caught himself under his eye so now he looks like he has a black eye. He's limited verbally and so I know what you mean about the frustration level for them due to inability to communicate.I was wondering if you've ruled out any gastric or digestive problems. My son has reflux and we're testing some other things to rule them out as well.He also has epilepsy (dx'd at age 4)I also took him to a dentist to get xrays(yes he was put under)and no cavities or anything that would bring discomfort. He's been on several meds 6 or so and now he's on Buspirone.Have you concidered medication? It's quite a task trying to " rule out " things but it's the only way to know where the behavior is coming from. Welcome to the group..I hope we can be helpful to you!
