Guest guest
Hi ! My 20 yr old daughter is following the iodine protcol and taking all her supplements and painting (her neck w iodine). We have walked away from 4 endos so far. I have an appt with a 5th and am thinking of cancelling it. The only reason I made it was to pick his brain of the best way to monitor her thyroid and lymphs. She had a partial done in July and 3 of the 6 lymphs they removed were malignant. No cancer was found in the lobe or isthmus they took out. So, what do you recommend to monitor her? I know the lateral neck ultrasound - which I think I can get our family doctor to write the script. Is there anything else I should do? I don't want to mess up so that is what is compelling me to try another endo, but then I think of the fear they are grounded in and she does not need that! Thanks for all your help and input, Have a blessed day, Luci
Guest guest
If it were me I would watch the following labs - these are the labs I personally watch. TSH Free T3 Free T4 RT3 TPO Ab Tg Ab Thyroglobulin For general health / immune system I watch these: Immunoglobulins (IgA, IgG, IgE) C-Reactive Protein (inflammation Marker) Iron / Ferritin B-12 RBC Magnesium RBC Folate (many cancer patients have the MTHFR gene defect where they cannot process folate correctly so I take DMG Complete from Pure Zen Health at Dr B's office) Vit D (25 Hydrox) CBC I think that covers it. I run more things like sex hormones, etc but they are dependant on what is going on with me at the time. Buist, ND HC monitoring Thyca Hi ! Guest guest
Great info ', thanks for sharing so much of your time and resources. I can't wait to read your book, do let us know when it's published!I was wondering how often you run these labs, is it once a year, or do you do them more often, because of your particular health challenges. Thanks,BarbOn Sat, Oct 1, 2011 at 7:54 AM, ladybugsandbees <ladybugsandbees@...> wrote: If it were me I would watch the following labs - these are the labs I personally watch. Guest guest
For about 4 years I ran them every 6 mos. That was when the cancer numbers were still present and I was working through chelation and other issues. We wanted to make sure I was remaining balanced. Now I run them every year. I hope to get really moving on my book next month - this month I have the challenge of starting my practice and finishing up my office. Buist, ND HC monitoring Thyca Hi ! Guest guest
How do you do it all? So glad I found you and this group, I've been reading almost non stop, whenever I can find the time, and have learned a lot. Your story is very inspirational and your book will give many people who are suffering, much needed hope and essential information. Take good care,Barb On Sat, Oct 1, 2011 at 9:29 AM, ladybugsandbees <ladybugsandbees@...> wrote: For about 4 years I ran them every 6 mos. Guest guest
The fact is that I am not handling it as well as it looks. I had to do some sanding today to prep for painting my office and bath. I was leaning over only to stand up to get that light headed stars in the eyes feeling. Grrr... Adrenals. So upstairs I came to get my B12 shot, dose of BalanCe (Vit C/Mg/K/Ca), Salt and some Iodine. I am doing better now. But I have been really pushing it lately with many deadlines looming over my head. So off I go to Home Depot to buy my paint and begin the next phase of this project. I will be so glad when I am settled in. monitoring Thyca Hi ! Guest guest
The good news is, though, that we can do a lot more, have symptoms come back, and deal with it and move on, which is so much better than crash and burn and take weeks, months, maybe years to get things back together. It's wonderful to know that things can get fundamentally better. On Oct 1, 2011, at 10:18 AM, ladybugsandbees wrote: The fact is that I am not handling it as well as it looks. Guest guest
I thought that very same thing when I was taking my supplements. Years ago when I was really suffering I had no clue what to do or what it was. Now I just do it. Buist, ND HC monitoring Thyca Hi ! Guest guest
Definitely words of wisdom: " I would follow the least toxic method of testing that gives you a good idea of what is going on. " There has been renewed interest in my goiter - had an ultrasound last week. (Last had that done and an FNA biopsy in 2003.) Now my Dr wants to do a nuclear scan. A quick Google search shows I have to give up iodine for 2 weeks prior. I'm following the iodine protocol and taking 130 mg / day of both Lugol's and Iodoral. I really don't want to stop now. This is NOT the least toxic way to find out what's going on and I wonder if I should just say No. Karyn > > > > If it were me I would watch the following labs - these are the labs I > personally watch. > > > > TSH > > Free T3 > > Free T4 > > RT3 > > TPO Ab > > Tg Ab > > Thyroglobulin > > > > > > For general health / immune system I watch these: > > > > Immunoglobulins (IgA, IgG, IgE) > > C-Reactive Protein (inflammation Marker) > > Iron / Ferritin > > B-12 > > RBC Magnesium > > RBC Folate (many cancer patients have the MTHFR gene defect where they > cannot process folate correctly so I take DMG Complete from Pure Zen > Health at Dr B's office) > > Vit D (25 Hydrox) > > CBC > > > > I think that covers it. Guest guest
Dr. Thank you for sharing this. It always creates a mental stress when a doctor is advising you to go in a direction you know is not in your best interest. Thanks. > > > > > > If it were me I would watch the following labs - these are the labs I > > personally watch. > > > > > > TSH > > > Free T3 > > > Free T4 > > > RT3 > > > TPO Ab > > > Tg Ab > > > Thyroglobulin > > > > > > > > > For general health / immune system I watch these: > > > > > > Immunoglobulins (IgA, IgG, IgE) > > > C-Reactive Protein (inflammation Marker) > > > Iron / Ferritin > > > B-12 > > > RBC Magnesium > > > RBC Folate (many cancer patients have the MTHFR gene defect where they > > cannot process folate correctly so I take DMG Complete from Pure Zen > > Health at Dr B's office) > > > Vit D (25 Hydrox) > > > CBC > > > > > > I think that covers it.
