Here is a website which lists ingredients for Selsun Blue. Maybe you can find something with these ingredients in it in Sweden.

http://www.livestrong.com/article/145981-ingredients-in-selsun-blue-shampoo/

I hope some big relief is found very soon.

Help!

I´m soon leaving...It started this summer when our then 10 months old daughter had over 100 bites on her body, and the skin clinic thought it was bites, that would disappear with time. They did, but more bites came and also on our 7 year old daughter and me and some few on my husband. In some of the bites of the 7-year old a test showed the liquid of reaction of the bite had klebsiella bacterias in it. I also had klebsiella bacteria when they did a nasopharynx test. We thought the bites etc would go away. It hasn´t - more bites coming up all the time (3-5 bites per day on three of us) and the skin clinic says they don´t know what to do and that the pest control company must take over.It has become a nightmare. They now crawl on me and the 7 year old mostly at night and bite a lot. Our reactions on the bites are smaller and smaller (not as red as before) but they wake us up every night and we have also gotten allergic reactions with swollen noses (inside) nighttime and slight cough daytime + eczema in the face of the 1 year old and me.The sanitizing firm has said it is NOT bed bugs (vägglöss) and probably bird mites (fågelkvalster). They have not found the insects though. (But they have not been that thorough looking either.)We took down a birds nest that we found at our carport, where under the little one has been sleeping in her pram- we take the pram indoors as well- so maby that´s where it comes from? The small girl has been sleeping under that tree often before. We took it down 6 weeks ago, but our problem is bigger than ever. ANd the small one still get some bites as well.THe pest control firm has sprayed with K-othrin 3 times in the house but it doesn´t help. The insects get really bothersome just when they have sprayed, then it calms down a bit, but keeps going on and on.Last 7 weeks everything has gotten much worse. They seem to choose me as their host, even if they bite the children as well. My husband only gets 1 bite a week or so. During this time they have waken me up every night crawling EVERYWHERE, mostly hair, face, nose, groin, legs, you name it. They also bite but not as much as before.I take sleeping pills, but they still wake me up. My husband has been home from work, to help, but has to start workning again. I am supposed to take care of 2 kids 1 year old and 7 year old, clean the house 155 square metres... Do all the laundry (you know it´s 8 machines a day for all of us cause everything has to be washed. THey also bite me and crawl on me now at daytime and when I´m away somewhere else. Last 2 days less, because it´s 10 celsius below 0 right now?I´m almost giving up, cause we have thrown all beds, have the couch, all books and most clothes in a rented freezing container, and now I have found out that bird mites NEVER die of cold. As with all of you doctors frown their noses and NOOne here in Sweden knows anything about bird mites and that they can affect humans. The specialists at a skin clinic + endomologist (are they called that) still cays that bird mites can not reproduce or live on human beeings.I´m feeling sick, but because my blood values are good they say there is nothing wrong with me and guess what; sent me to a psychiatrist, that waid I am imagining. We have pictures of the bites, still they don´t believe...I have a good job, a firm of my own as well and used to be a healthy person. I can´t manage anymore after 6 months of this and next weekend when I´m up working in another city I am planning to end it all..How do you endure?PLEASE HELP!C from Sweden

I spray 3% hydrogen peroxide directly on the environment in areas not ruined by

it along with white vinegar sprayed from a different spray bottle. When I put

them on my skin I never use them together. But frequently spraying the skin

where I have a bite tends to keep my from getting many more bites in the area.

Hi Cecelia

Do you have a translater , like google ? It might help , but your english is

very good , I would of thought you spoke enbgilsh in Sweden

http://www.google.com/translate_t

Now the mix is for the body & the environment , the peroxide is not good to

breathe so I apply it with out breathing it, wth plenty of fresh air . Thouah

one poster Bessie used the peroxide in vaporizers & put one of the vapor

steamers with the peroxide in it in each room, it helped her a lot . I don't

like to breathe peroxide it makes me have bad pains , so if I do it , I air out

the room for hours before entering.

All items dipped in a bath tub with 2 tbls coconut oil will stop the bug on the

item . For 6- 10 hrs. . But with borax added is leaves a residuale poison .

1 cup borax in hot water

1 gallon of hot water

2 tbls coconut oil

Spray every thing.,well & reates daily as needed , I did it for years

electronics put in a box & gas it or vapor it .well & repeatedly ,

gassing is done with tanks of gas like c02 or hydrogen. .

gassing is done outside , so it won't poison people

Vaporing is done in an enclosed contained with vapors , like from brake cleaner

( a type of carbon tetrachloride sold at auto parts stores ) , no pesst

strips ( like a fly peststrip of poison , bleach fumes , alcohol , & many

others , it cannot be done inside , it is poison .

the mix is for environment & the body ,

http://www.earthclinic.com/Pets/dog_mange_cure.html

The mix:

2 tblspns borax (20 mule team Borax laundry booster

16 oz peroxide (3%)

32 oz water.

mix it , and the borax nuetralizes the peroxide

http://www.fao.org/docrep/X5042E/x5042E01.htm

Other ways that have been found effective in preventing and controlling

infestations are as follows:

1. Sanitation.

2. Exclusion of pests.

3. Low temperature - " freeze-outs " , refrigeration, aeration.

4. High temperature - heating of mills.

5. Moisture control - grain drying.

6. Aeration - cooling, drying, elimination of temperature gradients.

7. Protectants - chemicals, inert dusts, natural compounds.

8. Residual or contact insecticides.

9. Atmospheric gases - carbon dioxide, nitrogen.

10. Gamma radiation, radio and sonic waves, microwaves, infra-red radiation.

11. Pheromones.

12. Insect growth regulators.

13. Insect pathogens.

14. Predators.

15. Insect resistant packaging.

16. Resistant varieties.

An effective integrated pest management system should begin with comprehensive

planning to include all aspects of the problem, followed by the application of

preventive and control methods...

God bless you ,

Bill

Cecilia,

Oh yes, I forgot. Just as Marie said, start taking MSM internally, as much as you can tolerate. Another idea is to get powdered MSM and add to shampoo, but flower of sulfur works well too. MSM will not burn--but sometimes flower of sulfur will burn if put too close to the eyes or sensitive parts of the body. I'd go with marie's suggestions first as she knows far more than I do about this whole mess.

Cee Cee, What have you tried thus far?

Cecilia,

I would sure try this... some people here have used MMS internally successfully (Marie for one) and others have had a bad reaction. I did not have a bad reaction, although it tastes terrible. I think it helps and kills a lot of harmful things internally if you can tolerate it. There is much debate about how toxic it is. Another thing you would have to send away for but inexpensive.

If it was me I would move. You're lucky you're single. My husband refuses to

move. It's not worth your life or getting suicidal over. Rent it out, or do

whatever you need to, even go into foreclosure if it saves your life. Yes some

mites could follow to your new place but there will be less. Just think about it

Cecilia. Right now, becasue you didn't know what you were dealing with, they

have had time to take over your entire home. They are in the walls, the

insulation, the roof, the subfloor, I mean, they are everywhere! When you move

with your new knowledge you've gained here you can prevent them from infesting

your entire home. If you can't sell or rent the house maybe stay with a relative

or use some savings to stay at a motel, or take a job that involves travel. My

point is you're going to have to do whatever necessary to avoid the suicidal

thoughts for the sake of your child, if nothing else. Personally I can't think

of a better solution than leaving the infestation. Kim

These are posts from a forum called topix , this is where I ( me Bill ) learned

of the arm & hammer powdered laundry soap:

3. i was told that back in the old days people would burn sulfer and let their

houses fill up with the smoke and it would kill bed bugs and chicken /bird mites

if they got inside their houses and that it always worked .just wondering how

you would make a contraption to burn that stuff .

just wonder where you would buy powdered sulfer .

i have had several old folk tell me this story and they always say it took care

of it no matter how bad the bugs were .

Create an insecticidal soap made with Arm & Hammer laundry detergent (powder),

using 1 tablespoon per 1 gal water in a sprayer. Apply no more than once every

two weeks. It turns leaves somewhat yellow, but is our treatment of choice

because of its high effectiveness and low toxicity to the environment.

LInda! You think eating MMS would help? I´ll do anything. Did it help you?I did try head and shoulders schampo (blue) but ound epsom salt giving btter relief. BUt things still there soon after (and I have a lot of the things in my clothes) What kind of steam press do you have that helped. How do you do with the clothes there?I find you very helpful and kind.CeciliaFrom: "Goldstein@..."

Cecilia,

All issues of contamination with clothing I believe are resolved. We bought a Singer clothes press. They must carry them in Europe too; maybe not a Singer, but another brand. After we started using the press all our clothing issues were resolved. That at least put our minds to rest and can use less detergents, and various things like Borax in the wash. Can use press for blankets, sheets, (takes a while to do) and so many other things. Would be great for children's clothing. AND FAST! Can do an entire large garment in less than a minute.

Here's the one I have:

http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=singer+clothing+press & rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox & oe=UTF-8 & rlz=1I7SKPT_en & um=1 & ie=UTF-8 & cid=16884833671863007195 & ei=N2_8TP7RGZOosAOn68n3DQ & sa=X & oi=product_catalog_result & ct=result & resnum=1 & ved=0CCYQ8wIwAA#

If Epson Salts are working for you and available, keep at it! I used to let myself be crusty all day from Epson salts when I didn't have to go anywhere. :)

Thanks Cecelia! I find you very kind as well. Do you have a bathtub for the children?

Thanks for adding the link to your steam press recommendation. I just ordered

it....never have I been so happy to get an iron in my life. My husband doesn't

know this yet but it's going to be his Christmas present to me. I ordered the

stand as you recommended as well. I am so tired of finding these things

cocooned up in our clothing and itching like crazy 5 mns after putting something

freshly washed on. Let's hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip!

Dear SBgirl!

WOW, That's a huge deal. You won't be sorry for getting it, I assure you. I know it is expensive--I would have arranged it the same way you did, (ha!), as a present - but I tell you, it has been worth its weight in gold here. At least the clothing is safe and you will notice that pretty quickly. I use mine on the hottest setting I can and steam the heck out of everything. Bought light weight cotton utility towels for showering and even do those as well. No more paper towels needed to dry after showers--even though maybe the GMO cotton is an issue, I don't know. Congratulations for taking a huge step!

Please let me know how you like it. Find a convenient place to set it up and start steaming away. I used to put clothing in zip lock bags after they were pressed. This is 10 times faster than ironing and not near as exhausting. I used to get bit all the time from waistbands because these mites hide in layers of cotton/clothing, but after using the press, no more bites from clothing, ever. If you buy any new clothing, press it before you wear it. If stores have these mites too it avoids bringing them in the house again.

I feel so happy for you SBgirl! And Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you.

  • 9 months later...

I have heard, here, of others getting scoped soon after a myotomy to check

things out. Dr. Richter suggested doing it periodically to keep an eye out for

problems.

As to the PPI's, it is standard for us to be on them after a myotomy. The

purpose of the fundoplication is to protect us from reflux, but that's not

perfect. Richter told me to stay on prilosec and he derided famotadine.

There is pretty clear support in the literature for taking the PPI's after the

myotomy and anyone who says otherwise is well outside the mainstream.

Yes, we still have achalasia, in the sense of degraded peristalsis, but our

LES's have been cut and, therefore, are no longer too tight for things to pass

through.

No. Where do you live in Miss? We see a doctor in Memphis that is great

and even though it had been two years since surgery he said there was no

need to scope.

In a message dated 9/15/2011 1:00:07 P.M. Central Daylight Time,

I flew to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota back in May and was diagnosed with

vigorous achalasia...had the HM and fundo in July there, too.

Now, I'm back in MS trying to find a GI doctor competent in treating

achalasia. Just got in with a doctor today to help with pain (spasm)

management....

He starts talking about scoping me again next month to get duodenum and

esophageal biopsies to look for celiac disease and see if I have any reflux

damage after the surgery.

The thing is...do I really need to be scoped again?? At Mayo Clinic, they

told me I did NOT need to be on a PPI because what I have (achalasia) is

the OPPOSITE of reflux because it makes it near impossible to have reflux.

I'm just feeling like this may be unnecessary. The doctor here told me that

he doesn't want me to get reflux-induced strictures on top of what I've

already got going on.

Did anyone else get scoped 3 or so months after surgery? I'm wondering if

this guy knows what he's talking about.
