Guest guest
Have you always taken Lugol's? Some don't do as well on liquid Lugol's vs Iodoral due to issues with absorption. Buist, ND HC Lori long time no update Hi everyone,I show up periodically here so not sure if anyone remembers me. I started on iodine this summer as I have Hashimotos, a nodule, and I like to do triathlons. Therefore, I need my energy to be top shape to even train for these events.I have worked my way up to 100 mg per day. I just ordered the Lugol's for the first time from a website on ebay recommended by a moderator.I haven't experienced any detox symptoms. My thyroid nodule shrunk a bit or changed shape but it is now just sitting and not changing. I am also not as high energy but not bad either.Question: I am thinking of going up to 125 mg to see if I can get the nodule to change. Thoughts anyone?Currently on cofactors, vit d, mega foods thyroid strength and adrenal support, and many other supplements including vita b and complex b liquid form. My tongue still has a huge groove down the center so wondering if I need the ATP cofactors as isn't the tongue groove a vita b deficiency? If off topic, mplease answer in off topic area. Thanks so much! Happy iodining in the new year!Lori
Guest guest
But yes, increasing the iodine is the protocol to seeing change in disease states. In addition, paint the Lugol's on the outside of your throat over the thyroid, the whole area. External application over problem areas really helps, in addition to the internal. -- On 3 Jan 2012 at 14:36, ladybugsandbees wrote: > > > > Have you always taken Lugol's? Guest guest
I'm just bumping this message if that's ok - for painting - how do you do it without the lugols giving you a rash? I've tried it and I can't tolerate it easily and after two days have to stop From: Baker <vbaker@...>iodine Sent: Tuesday, 3 January 2012, 20:14Subject: Re: Lori long time no update But yes, increasing the iodine is the protocol to seeing change in disease states. Guest guest
Hi , Lugol's will dry out your skin. So - when painting on the body, use a different spot every day. For targeted painting you will need to apply something like Pawpaw lotion to rehydrate the skin. Guest guest
Hi , Perhaps if you know someone near you that does low level cold laser therapy like Quantum Scalar Laser or others you could paint the iodine and then have the laser allergy/ sensitivity treatment it takes just a few minutes and most people then avoid the substance for 24 hrs some just 6 hrs and are ok. This works for a majority but not everybody just google and u tube info. I cured some allergies including friends metal allergy this way. hugs chris http://www.youtube.com/user/HeadTrashTV?feature=mhee(RR) turning the psychological world on its head for the betterhttp://twitter.com/ChrisMilbankhttp://headtrash.co.uk/the-mission/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLQpRrsQ1Zw & feature=relatedhttp://headtrash.ning.com/ this is a RR and Head Trash chat and blog community u tube video of Reflective Repatterning course students From: Kuziw <akuziw@...>"iodine " <iodine > Sent: Wednesday, 4 January 2012, 9:48Subject: Re: Lori long time no update I'm just bumping this message if that's ok - for painting - how do you do it without the lugols giving you a rash? Guest guest
I've had success with painting iodine in different areas. One day on the throat, one day on the belly, one day on inner thigh, etc. Keep rotating and see if that helps. Otherwise there are folks who mention placing iodine in a carrier oil or lotion then applying. I have not tried it so cannot advise how to do that. > > > > > > > > > Have you always taken Lugol's? Guest guest
Some have mixed it with coconut oil and then applied it to the skin. Guest guest
Reminder: Please change the subject line if the subject changes or if you're bumping the subject. It may not get noticed otherwise. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- It's not actually that Lugol's dries out the skin, and it's not an allergic reaction as someone else responded. The reason Lugol's can cause a skin rash (dermatitis) is because iodine is oxidizing and it irritates the skin. Not drying out, not allergy. The way to avoid this is to use an oil carrier. People frequently use coconut oil, some use castor oil, others use jojoba oil. Painting is sometimes a very location- specific need, such as those with thyca who need to paint over the throat, or those with breast or uterus/ovary issues who need to paint directly over those spots. So moving around is not appropriate for some people, and, without an oil carrier, even those who are moving around may eventually irritate the skin. How much oil to Lugol's is a personal matter. But it's much better to start off with the oil carrier than to wait until you have the dermatitis, because you first have to heal the dermatitis before you can use the oil carrier/Lugol's. It doesn't take a lot of oil to prevent the dermatitis. But you'll have to experiment and discover for yourself what works best. Some people are afraid the oil will prevent absorption. That's actually not how it works-- it's actually a myth that oils aren't absorbed by the skin-- it depends on which oil. But you want to use a nutritive oil carrier, not grease or something like corn oil or mineral oil. Castor oil has healing properties of its own and is very valuable for this, some use a combo of castor and coconut (which has skin healing properties). Jojoba oil is the closest to our own hair and skin oils, and absorbs rapidly. There are other nutritive oils that would work. But these are the 3 most often discussed. -- moderator > Hi , > Lugol's will dry out your skin. > So - when painting on the body, use a different spot every day. > For targeted painting you will need to apply something like Pawpaw > lotion to rehydrate the skin. > > > > Re: Lori long time no update > > > But yes, increasing the iodine is the protocol to seeing change in > disease states.
