Guest guest
Hi Mark, After extensive research myself, I personally prefer unrefined Celtic Sea Salt. There have been some reports of Himalayan salt being excessively high in fluoride. I don’t know if this is true or not, but just incase, I stick with unrefined Celtic and Redmond's Real Salt. To each his own! Best, -Kathleen moderator Great Help - Great Mods - and even some info right here...! Extreme Kudos for the amazing and wonderful help our mods provide here:3 Cheers !As a result of the recent exchanges regarding nutrients I went on a search for salt info & sources.Found an interesting comparison & a couple of decent looking sources.Celtic is collected in certain spots, seemingly in France, where seawater pools at high tide, then dries.Himalayan is mined from deposits deep in the mountains. What the comparison pointed at was the age & purity of the Himalayan vs. the simple fact that nowadays most oceans are very polluted, so the Celtic may be gathered where it has recently crystalized and hence MAY not be as pure.Based upon this info; another fact, and my liking of pink over gray...here is where I ended up:http://www.sfbsc.com/himalayan-saltPlease notice that if one gets 10# the shipping is free.(These folks have MANY kinds of salt including the Celtic...)A close competitor is:http://www.saltworks.us/shop/product.asp?idProduct=373As with the above, they offer free shipping on many varieties, but I think the 1st one has better deals generally. One final (personal) note - Saltworks is near Seattle, Washington - and though both are west coast firms, I chose the one =>farther<= from where I've heard the highest level of fallout ('the plume') from 3/11 passed through in it's travels.Best Wishes to All !mark
Guest guest
I like Redmond's Real Salt. It is mined from an ancient seabed in Utah. It is available at most grocery stores that have any natural/organic at all. It is the least expensive of the whole unrefined salts available to those in the USA. I included a link to it in my supplements example list. -- On 3 Jan 2012 at 22:50, smallhagridinvt wrote: > Extreme Kudos for the amazing and wonderful help our mods provide > here: > 3 Cheers ! > > As a result of the recent exchanges regarding nutrients I went on a > search for salt info & sources. > > Found an interesting comparison & a couple of decent looking sources. > > Celtic is collected in certain spots, seemingly in France, where > seawater pools at high tide, then dries. > > Himalayan is mined from deposits deep in the mountains. > > What the comparison pointed at was the age & purity of the Himalayan > vs. the simple fact that nowadays most oceans are very polluted, so > the Celtic may be gathered where it has recently crystalized and hence > MAY not be as pure. > > Based upon this info; another fact, and my liking of pink over > gray...here is where I ended up: http://www.sfbsc.com/himalayan-salt > > Please notice that if one gets 10# the shipping is free. > (These folks have MANY kinds of salt including the Celtic...) > > A close competitor is: > http://www.saltworks.us/shop/product.asp?idProduct=373 > > As with the above, they offer free shipping on many varieties, but I > think the 1st one has better deals generally. > > One final (personal) note - Saltworks is near Seattle, Washington - > and though both are west coast firms, I chose the one =>farther<= from > where I've heard the highest level of fallout ('the plume') from 3/11 > passed through in it's travels. > > Best Wishes to All ! > > mark > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > Owner: Buist, ND HC > Moderators: Baker, Kathleen Blake, Donna Iler, Linn > > All off topic posts should go to the IodineOT group > IodineOT/ > > > The NEW MEMBER DOCUMENT (#1 on the list) > iodine/files/01%20NEW%20MEMBERS%2 > 0-%20READ%20FIRST/
