Guest guest
Diane, I quickly read the site you listed, and I agree there are questions that must be answered before accepting/endorsing all of the information the site endorses. I noticed that it was posted sometime before 1996, and that they say there were active FDA trials in the works at that point. Let me do a quick scan of the medical literature, and see what the traditional (allopathic) medical community has to say about it. In theory, I understand their intended premise -- that using a T-cell-based desensitization process should give more potent and longer lasting results than an antibody (IgE) mediated desensitization process (because of the type of hypersensitivity response that's generated using each specific type of cell). But science/medicine isn't that cut and dry, and based on what I read, you cannot even begin to compare this to IVIG therapy, at least not for primary immunodeficiency treatment (there may be other diseases currently treated by IVIG -- usually the " off-label " uses -- that might respond to this EPD, as well, because they might take two different paths to a similar final destination, so to speak... but I doubt that the same could be said for PIDs). But I won't form my actual personal opinions until I've read a little more, preferably things in peer-reviewed, scientifically-respected medical journals, published more recently than 1996. If you can give me a few days, I'll do what I can to read up a bit on it. Just wanted to let you know I'd received the message, though, and am working on a response. I hope that Kody and you are doing okay, and that you are able to keep from worrying about your acquaintance's behavior -- you have done everything possible to date to keep Kody healthy, and I wouldn't be concerned that there's something you've missed, no matter how adamant these EPD-proponents may be. Hope this helps - I'll be back in touch soon! Take care, Diane Schmidt wrote: > > , > > I've had an acquaintance be rather obnoxious about this thing called EPD > therapy.... <snip>. Guest guest
Thank you !! I'd never heard of this before, they live in Canada so I guess it is accepted there, but this person says it helps the immune system and fibromyalgia (which I have) and everything. I just want to be able to be informed about it so that I can respond appropriately. Plus, if it did help...LOL I guess we all want to make sure we've tried everything and done everything we can for our child! I appreciate you looking into this for me!!! That's what it's there for! Don't worry if you have a little problem uploading it - I saw that has been making some changes this week and people on the unofficial mods lists have have been complaining they're having a heck of a time with their files and photo sections the past 2 days. Guest guest
Dear , Where does doctor A. get his iodine from for Iodoral? Apparently there are two main places in the world where iodine is extracted, on the chilean coast line and just off the coast of Japan under the sea. The latter does not appeal to me much given what happened at Fukushima! I seem to remember that you said lately he sourced his iodine from a mineral source, (or am I imagining it?) Thanks, MacG. Guest guest
No you did not imagine that. I was told that he gets it by drilling (?) somewhere in Chile. ? for Dear , Where does doctor A. get his iodine from for Iodoral?
